Don't you think the wording on the intro ought to be changed

Seem's a bit of a piss take really, you never know who's for real or fake these days and it's stopping members welcoming the genuine new members.

Just ban certain members from posting in the Welcome New Members forum, it's only a few that have to act all hard nosed and make an unwelcoming welcome.

indeed. the wording probably should be changed as there's obviously no way CTW can assure a friendly welcome.

 

there are obviously some members who, for one reason or another, feel that the fact that the world is a tough place is an excuse to just be shitty to people in general. perhaps it hasn't crossed their minds that the reason the world is shitty sometimes is because people keep being shitty.

 

they also seem slow to understand that they/we have some control over that. anyway, whatever.

 

is it possible for comments to be disabled only in the 'new members' forum?

 

that way people can use that forum solely to introduce themselves and they can decide if they want to join in the regular cut and thrust in the other forums.

 

not the best thought-through idea but just throwing it out there.
