I've spent £1,100 before on a 28 inch ! (back in about '95 !)

I would always spend up to a grand on any piece of electrical equipment - but never more than that !

People who buy plasmas at 7k+ when they first came out are crazy ! Then again that may be nothing to these people - personally I'd rather wait for things to drop at least 50% in 2 years. Ext. DVD burner I just got was only £100 smile.gif

I think my TV cost around 800 and I bought that in February. I've only ever used it once because I then went land rovering it around southern Africa.

Probably about 700 quid. Depends, did you want a flat screen or a normal jobbie?

Umm... Doesn't it kinda depend how much money you have...? How much you should spend is like "how long is a piece of string".

Agreed with James though - unless you really have money to burn, the extra benefits of spending over a grand rapidly tail off compared with the outlay.

I've seen a lot of flat-screen plasmas that cost 2 or 3 times as much as my 32" flat-screen CRT; obviously you have the benefit of it taking up a fraction of the space (my TV is a hulking great thing and weighs a ton) but the image quality is definitely better on my TV.

atm it's

big (28") normal one for £180

medium (21") normal flat screen one for £160

big (28") wide screen one for £200

big (28") wide flat screen one for £280.

tempted to spend £280 on the nice one and 120 on a player to make the whole thing about £400.... unsure.gif
