Good one! I love doing illustrations like that...I don't get to spend enough time on em though as i've got bloody clients breathing down my neck and the stuff I do for me is a lot more abstract and multilayered

 

I'll have to sit down one of these days and finish that illustration of Clare Danes I was doing....mmmmmmmmmmm Clare Danes

i dabble now and then. But like you cus of my job and the sites i do do, well lets say i have no creative control what so ever. It's do this design and make it into a website.

Yeah I know how you feel...i'm in quite a senior position where I am and, allegedly, I get to make creative decisions...unfortunately it just doesn't work like that most of the time though

 

I know that's it's all just disposable art, and that it's all down to personal opinions...but when you go to a doctor for help you don't tell him how he's going to be operating on you!...I've never been able to understand why people will pay you loads of money for your advice...then completely ignore it and do what everyone else does!...bloody cowards

Feels like you're going dead in the head sometimes.

yeah...the only original/interesting stuff I get to do is the arty-farty stuff I do for myself at home

 

Anyway, i've been at my current place for 2 years now...time for a change of scenery methinks

funny enough i'm changin place to but movin more towards networking now as that is what my degree is in. Moving to sheffield to be with nic and job hunting so i don't have to travel between lincoln and sheffield.

I just want something a bit more challenging...i've gone from a job that was quite high profile and rewarding but was underpaid and had ridiculous working hours (110-140 hour weeks!)...to something that's nicely paid and easy but not very interesting...somewhere inbetween would do me nicely

wouldn't we all. But like you said i want something more challanging. But because i've got all these small jobs i have no time to really indulge what i love most.

 

Design is a side thing to me that i do in my spare time which just happens to be something i can do where i work now. My real love is networks, which helps when i'm working for a small business isp. however most of the tech support are thick clients that can't tell their arse from their elbow in problem solving, so i don't get to get more envolved in the things i love most.

 

However going home and either doing music or design is what enables me to keep sain, lol.
