No catch - looks like they’ve had this free version since early 2019, just never noticed it.

They always had a few free plugins but now it’s even easier as wrapped up in one package - obviously they are hoping you will upgrade to Standard or Ultimate like I eventually did.

The other thing I am super-impressed with about NI is that you don’t miss out on upgrades if you skip a few major versions - I had Komplete Ultimate 9 and waited until Komplete Ultimate 12 to upgrade, at the same cost as someone going from 11 to 12.    They pretty much support the last 4 or so versions for upgrades & crossgrades.

I will post my favourite NI plugins later ...

That’s good to hear.

I’m pretty late at joining the native parade. I’ve only been using them for a few months. But they seem to have almost all bases covered. I’m really loving kontakt, massive, massive x and battery at the moment. But there’s so much content I know I haven’t even scratched the surface yet.

Polyplex also awesome, too many to list, will do a separate post lol

Reaktor just blows my mind, too complex for me - literally design your own Synth from scratch ...

Also check out NI’s newer entry-level hardware controllers - awesome & cheap

NI effectively predicted the future - they knew with Moores law that eventually software-based synths & modelling would eventually take over ... (very similar to AWS & Cloud Computing vs on-prem physical data centres ...)

NI was also founded by 2 awesome hands-on dudes !

Yep its totally mental - i think i would have to be retired in order to properly invest in low level synth design like that !
