Sessions returned for 2004 with a refreshed Wednesday night formula, combining its established mix of hard dance and house music with new drinks promotions to kick off the year in style.
Headlining Hard Sessions was Goodgreef resident Alex Kidd, whose energetic performances and growing reputation had made him one of the UK's most sought-after hard dance DJs. A Mixmag Future Hero and regular favourite at clubs including Incisions, Alex brought his trademark high-energy style to The Space.
Joining him were Leeds favourites Chris Impact, whose newly launched Bare Damage Recordings label was already generating attention, and Sam Townend, continuing to build his reputation through productions with Alex Calver.
Making his Sessions debut was Burg, fresh from an acclaimed performance at Goodgreef's return to Philips Park Hall, where many felt his classic old-school set stole the show. Completing the hard room lineup was rising talent Russ Longthorne, already making a name for himself through appearances at events including North Gathering.
In the House Sessions room, resident Filthy Rich continued his weekly residency alongside returning guest Nick Brown, who was invited back after creating one of the best atmospheres at a previous event.
To celebrate the new year, Sessions also introduced some of its cheapest drinks prices to date while keeping admission prices unchanged. Offers included £1 bottles of Carling, Fosters and Java, along with spirits and mixers for just £1.20, making it one of the most affordable midweek club nights in Leeds.
