** PRESS RELEASE ** PRESS RELEASE ** PRESS RELEASE **
Fiercely funky and proud of it…
UP^^ – Ministry of Sound – December 3rd, 2005
Well, who could forget the last UP^^ when we well and truly took the Ministry of Sound by storm and gave nastydirtysexmusic in the main room a serious run for their money. For the third time this year we had the Baby Box rockin’ like no one else can, so we’re going to do it one last time on Saturday, December 3rd.
Back in October we once again grabbed hold of this intimate space and made it our own with the infectious UP^^ brand of fiercely funky house that all’s about big basslines, driving dirty house grooves and those special hands-in-the-air moments. With our newly announced residents Ben Dela-peña and Brad 212 Finlay leading the charge and playing their best set of the year so far, it was an unforgettable night and proved that the UP^^ DJs, the UP^^ vibe and, above all, the UP^^ crowd are second to none.
December 3rd is going to be the final UP^^ of 2005 and we’re planning to go out with a bang (we’ve plenty of exciting things lined up for next year, of course.) It should be another great night across the Ministry too with Sander Kleinenberg headlining in the main room with his Everybody party. Spinning the tunes that matter in the Baby Box, meanwhile, will be:-
• Ben Dela-peña – UP^^ resident, Riot! resident and the man behind Zipcode, he’s one of the busiest DJs around town and a major talent in the making – www.djbdp.com
• Brad 212 Finlay – fellow UP^^ resident and another rising star. These two have defined the UP^^ sound – expect to hear a few of Brad’s new tunes too – www.brad212finlay.com
• Vandal & Chops – two young guns from the Kurruption crew who’ve been making quite a name for themselves around town with their firin’ sets – www.clubkurruption.co.uk
• Chris Barratt – a young DJ making his UP^^ debut and definitely one to watch out for. Chris promises to kick ass and expect to hear a few of his own cheeky re-edits and bootlegs.
• OpaqueJake – resident with becomeone and purveyor of the finest deep house who’ll be getting the party started just right – www.becomeone.co.uk
All these DJs have been handpicked for their ability to bring fresh and exciting house grooves to the party as well as their skills at rockin’ the dancefloor. You won’t hear any cheesy anthems at UP^^ or records you’ve heard a hundred times before; instead it’ll be the kind of fresh and innovative music that marks UP^^ out as the brightest new house night in London. It’s no wonder word is spreading fast that UP^^ is one of the best parties around town and our last event of the year should be no exception.
From the sensuous and lush deep house of OpaqueJake through to Ben and Brad with the very best in upfront ass-shakin’ action and Vandal & Chops and Chris Barratt who’ll be rounding the night off in fine style, this will be quality music from start to finish with a packed dancefloor guaranteed. That’s not all, of course…
Sander Kleinenberg is one of the world’s finest purveyors of tech-edged progressive house that’s as funky and sexy as it is deep and dirty. His Everybody parties are renowned throughout the world and he’s been taking the Ministry by storm this year so expect something of a grand finale tonight. Joining him in the main room will be resident Mark Knight and Demi, tipped by none other than Danny Tenaglia as one of his favourite DJs. There’ll be funkier house flavours over in the bar, meanwhile, from Nick Bridges, Richard Murray and friends. In other words, it’s going to be a party of epic proportions.
There’s no finer place to party than the Ministry of Sound, of course, as the UP^^ regulars know only too well, so dress up to get down and slip on your dancing shoes. December 3rd promises to be another special night in true UP^^ style with only the most UP^^lifting fiercely funky house anthems on offer – combine that with the UP^^ faithful who know a thing or two about how to party and you’ve a match made in heaven. It’s going to be proper, as they say. Next stop 2006 and things are only going to get bigger and better for UP^^ including a return to Turnmills on Saturday, March 4th when we’ll be taking over the whole club – watch this space!
The only way is UP^^, baby… £12 concessionary admission and special queuing is available now – for further information and to get your name on the list contact Amanda on 07949 618035 / amanda@franticuk.com or Matthew on 07957 112723 / matthew@seditiondjs.com
UP^^ is brought to you by Uprising Clubs and Sedition DJs – watch this space! -
