Following two years of completely sold out events the South West Four festival returns with a vengeance in 2006 offering two days of the ‘definitive who’s who’ of today’s dance music DJs. Featuring many weekend exclusives across both cities, the South West Four festival shifts up a gear this summer to host the ultimate dance music weekend. EVOLUTION
The Third Birthday
Saturday 26th August 2006 10 – 6AM
@ The Fridge, Town Hall Parade, Brixton SW9

The classics night that dares to be different is back at last for its massive Third Birthday celebrations. After totally ramming the Koko full of misty-eyed clubbers at the tail end of 2005, Evolution is finally back to remind us all just how we got to where we are in 2006. For a special twist on the classic anthems theme, the night will begin by revisiting the year of 2003, then rewinding backwards through the years finishing with the revolutionary sounds of 1998! Serving up these classic cuts will be a host of Hard Dance’s most prolific producers and some of the scene’s most important DJs.
2003 MDA & Spherical – Hard Dance’s biggest new talents take a short walk down memory lane to one of the genre’s peaks. Hard House was back with a vengeance, Techno and Hardstyle were creeping into the scene, and Hard Trance was finding its new superstars!
2002 James Lawson – The year this legend made his real breakthrough, with stunning tracks like “Energise, “Exit-E and his tearing remix of “Badass. Lawson will recreate the awesome sounds of this year with the help of the revolutionary Ableton Live software – re-editing and remixing tracks LIVE on the night.
2001 Spencer Freeland b2b Technikal – The legend who discovered this amazing young talent teams up for an exclusive back to back performance. This is the master Vs the apprentice taking you for a magical journey back to the time when HeatUK first began with the merge of the hard house and trance sound.
2000 Billy “Daniel Bunter – The Honeypot Head Honcho Bunter had already begun his amazing run of forward-thinking, super-stimulating productions with studio partner Jon Doe in 2000, and was laying the foundations for his awesome Tasty parties with his newly-named Hard Dance sound. His distinctive UK sound is fun, energetic, and laid the foundations for the genre for years to come.
1999 Rob Tissera – Trance had hit its peak and Rob Tissera (one half of anthem-makers Quake) was rocking the likes of Sundissential on a weekly basis with the best of the emerging UK sound alongside Europe’s most stunning Trance productions. The harder elements were coming through in Trance music and labels like Tidy Trax and Nukleuz were becoming absolutely massive.
1998 Marc French – The year so many Trance anthems were destroying the UK and Ibiza’s dancefloors and finally staking its claim as one of dance music’s most popular genres – the likes of Greece 2000’s “Three Drives and Binary Finary’s “1998 doing the business week in, week out. Marc French revisits this amazing period for the final set of the night – euphoric tunes at their very finest. Get those hands in the air people!
Room 2 is being hosted by those naughty afterparty types at Baklash with some of London’s finest underground talent.
Evolution is a celebration of the golden era of hard music played by some of the most experienced DJs from different eras. After South West Four there can be no better way to continue the night if you love Hard Dance!
