Moxy Muzik: Darius Syrossian & Friends

Moxy Muzik launched in 2019 as both a record label and a party concept, an outlet for the music Syrossian actually wants to play: house, minimal, tech house and the deeper, groovier end of the dancefloor. The premise from day one was long sets in small rooms rather than short slots on big stages. Since then the label has put out records from DJ Sneak, Stacey Pullen, Audiojack, wAFF and Jordan Peak, built a vinyl-first Editions series with hand-drawn sleeve artwork, and carried the sound into Off Sonar and Miami Music Week compilations this year.

Syrossian's route to this point is well documented. Over a decade behind the counter at Leeds record shops Global Beat and Crash before he ever went full time in the booth. Two BBC Radio 1 Essential Mixes. A DJ Mag Best of British win for Best Resident DJ. Weekly residencies at Space Ibiza in its final year, Amnesia with Do Not Sleep, Sankeys across multiple seasons, plus regular appearances at DC10. Releases on Hot Creations, VIVa MUSiC, Get Physical, Moon Harbour and 8bit. He opened 2026 with fresh material on his own label, including "Hip Riddim" with Jamie Coins and "Get Toast" with George Smeddles, and there is a Prunk collaboration for PIV and a Cassius rework in the pipeline.

The "and friends" billing is doing real work here. Moxy nights at Joshua Brooks have built a reputation for curation that rewards a bit of patience, and support is never filler. Past editions have brought Smokey Bubblin' B, Capri and Miruna Ghica through the booth alongside the venue residents. Full line-up lands soon.

Joshua Brooks was made for this kind of programming. Under the bricked arches of the basement, the low ceilings hold the Void Acoustics rig tight and the intimate dancefloor puts you close enough to feel every transition. Darius had a hand in designing this room, which is a fair part of why Moxy Muzik calls it home. There is nothing to hide behind down there, and that is precisely the point. The music comes first. It always has here.
