Moxy Muzik: Darius Syrossian & Friends | 7th August (Friday 7th August 2026)

Moxy Muzik returns to Joshua Brooks on 7th August, with label boss Darius Syrossian back in the basement for an extended three-hour set. The residency has been running under the bricked arches for over five years now, and it remains the foundation the room's whole energy is built on.

Moxy Muzik started in 2019 as both a label and a party concept, an outlet for the music Syrossian actually wants to play. House, minimal, tech house and the deeper end of the floor, delivered in long sets in small rooms rather than short slots on big stages. The premise has not shifted since day one: the music comes first, no fads, no chasing whatever is trending.

His route to that position is well documented. The best part of fifteen years behind the counter at Leeds vinyl institutions Global Beat and Crash, selling records to visiting DJs before he ever went full time in the booth. Two BBC Radio 1 Essential Mixes, a DJ Mag Best of British win for Best Resident DJ, and residencies at Space Ibiza in its final year, Amnesia with Do Not Sleep and DC10. Records across Hot Creations, VIVa MUSiC, Get Physical and Moon Harbour. He opened 2026 with a run of fresh material on his own label, including "Hip Riddim" with Jamie Coins and "Get Toast" with George Smeddles.

Direct support comes from Jack Davies ahead of the headline set. Ruby Francesca, Will Short and Carli Jayne then share a B3B across the night. Carli Jayne is the one to watch there, a Doncaster selector who co-owns speed garage label Velocity and moves freely across house, UK garage and the faster end of the tempo range, with support slots for Mella Dee and Darius already behind her and festival appearances at Leeds and Beat-Herder. Moxy nights here have built a reputation for support that is never filler, and the residency has become one of Manchester's more dependable underground house nights on the back of it.

Joshua Brooks was made for this kind of programming. Under the bricked arches of the basement, the low ceilings hold the Void Acoustics rig tight and the intimate floor puts you close enough to feel every transition. Darius had a hand in designing this room, which is a fair part of why Moxy calls it home. Nothing to hide behind down there, which is exactly the point.
