DJ Jon Pleased Wimmin is bringing all the glamour to the decks in September.
One Foot In The Fave is a popular dance music night of 90s club classic anthems for a mature, discerning crowd in Faversham, Kent. It’s an uplifting, friendly evening with a like-minded crowd and an evocative journey back to favourite tunes and fond memories. Join us on the dancefloor once again and set your soul free.
On Saturday 19 September, we are excited to welcome house music legend, DJ Jon Pleased Wimmin to the decks. He will bring his flamboyant drag style and upbeat house and it will be a riot of fabulousness!!
From a cabaret act with ‘The Pleased Wimmin’ in 1991 to warming up for DJ Danny Rampling to Clockwork Orange in Ibiza, Ministry of Sound, Moneypennys and Golden, Jon (JPW) has played them all. A musician and producer, Jon had chart hits in the 90s with ‘handbag house’ club hits ‘Passion’ and ‘Give Me Strength’. He has also remixed some classic compilation cds, notably Fantazia and Ministry of Sound. A true UK dance music veteran, he has spent 35 years at the forefront of house and club culture.
Setting the scene and supporting him is our resident DJ Danfos who always packs the dancefloor early doors and knows all your favourite house tracks. An avid house music lover with DJing credits at clubs in Canterbury (Chills), Ashford (Liquid) and Folkestone (La Parisienne). He currently hosts ‘Our House Live’ on Radio Faversham.
With the current huge trend for ‘older clubbing’, ‘over 40s’, ‘daytime clubbing’ events, One Foot In The Fave brings a mix of experience, knowledge, artists and venue to provide an authentic club classics experience. This event is promoted by former 90s DJ agent Jane Reucroft. As part of the bar staff team at Nottingham’s Venus, she was there for such iconic nights as Chuff Chuff, Flying at Venus and Ask Yer Dad. Setting up one of the first dance music DJ agencies in 1992, she went on to book and manage some of the 90s biggest DJs before creating the UK’s first all-girl DJ club tour A Gift From The Gods in 1997.
Held at The Old Brewery Store on Conduit Street in the heart of Faversham, this smart, intimate warehouse setting offers a stage, dancing area, tables and seating with a fully stocked bar area of cask tables and atmospheric lantern lighting. It’s a sophisticated venue, perfect for a mature crowd.
