CTW News, Comments & Suggestions

Had this before then removed it due to trying to reduce numbers of forums. I WANT IT BACK as I have sh*t loads of stuff to share with you over the last 11 years of my working !

Too things here, one of them perhaps a little bit of a gripe. 1) Don't see the point of rating posts, people should be able to make up their own minds about whether something is worth reading or not. 2) (this is my gripe) Even though I was off for about the week the site was being moved, I come back to find my old rating (of which I have been voted down SEVERLY) has been reinstated. Have the old ratings been carried across, or have some c^nts been voting me down despite the fact I've made no posts in about a week?

I come on here cos you lot are a laugh, and I enjoy a healthy amount of banter, and it's generally speaking all good natured fun. Plus I get to organise meetups with peeps for events that I might otherwise not attend. What about anyone else?

Things I love about new CTW - The little flashing envelope thing that shows when you have a new PM - The fact that when a new post has been added to a thread, you click on it, and it takes you to the last one you read. - the way it shows how many new posts/threads since last time you visited. QUALITY!

How do I add a thread to my fav threads list so I can jump to them easily?

Does anyone else have problems with their browser crashing on them when about to make a post? I press the post button and the PC stops responding for a few secs before IE gets shut down. Netscape works OK though. Internet Explorer doesn't normally crash for me (it just grinds to a slow crawl instead!) so I don't know why it's just happening with this site, although it is only occasionally. Okie doke, thanks...

I think we should be able to add events here that our members are definately attending, or at least where the reps are going, like myself. I think it's possible that the actual events are a little confusing to find since we have "this weekend" "suggested events" + this one. I know that people can [censored] these things out for themselves, but even now it's still a little messy to see where and what, with who is happening. I realise you are busy James/Creamy/Sarah (Ibiza-duh!) but this maybe needs addressing, plus on the front page where our favourite clubs are listed, there could be even more clubs that we go to often, mine being the arches, so maybe we should ge…

I don't know what the correct term for this thing is (that thing that prints out the news updates, football result stylee, across the top of the screen.) But is there a way you can choose not to display it?

It took a bit of time for me to get used to, but I've found that since I've got the hang of navigation, the speed of loading and posting has really gone up. Glad to see the whole data transfer thing is sorted, and that we've got pictures back in our signatures. I guess the next question would be about the Avatars......
