  1. Tidy Weekender 3 Are You All Ready? Pontins, Prestatyn. 9pm. And, despite the fact that I'd been travelling since 7am that morning, the prospect of 72hrs of the hardest beats on the market was keeping me going. Almost as soon as we drove into the site, the bass filled the air. Walking from the car to the main entrance, anticipation crackled around the assembled clubbers. Once check in had happened, chalets had been located, decks set up and clothes changed, it was time to hit the rooms and see if the previous year could be improved on. Time to lay down some serious sounds Arriving late as we had, I got into the main room in …

  2. As most people who have met me already know, I love my bosh. The harder the better in my opinion. So, when the opportunity to go to the Frantic Xmas party came up, there was never any doubt over whether I'd be making the trek up to London to indulge in music of the harder variety. The Purple Turtle pub was the meetup spot of choice this time round, being situated as it is across the road from Camden Palace. It's nice to be able to sip on a Red Bull whilst enjoying some soothing hard trance sounds. Once we got inside Frantic, I was greeted with the audio assault of Daniel Bailey (Slinky fave), as he mixed and scratched his was through a rip roaring set. This was…

  3. Started by James,

Well, it was my first trip to the great bus depot in the middle of no-where that is Passion, and I must say I was very impressed with Mr. Kinch's little endeavour. From the moment I walked into the main room, the sheer size of the place was what impressed me. The main room seemed to go on for miles, and the myriad of little passageways and crannies tucked away in the bowels of the club were a mission to explore. As for the DJ's, all of them played excellent sets. I've rarely heard John '00' Fleming play better, and when he dropped his remix of Cafe Del Mar I danced so much I was like Matthew Kelly in a nursery. JFK played to the crowd as only a resident can, an…

  4. New Year's Eve, possibly the most over-hyped night of the year. The night when you are supposed to go out and party wildly, leave behind the dross and disappointment of the old year, and pass into a new year full of possibility and potential. I have had great nights out on New Years Eve, and I have had disasterous ones, I have also wonderful nights in, with a good wine and the love of a good woman, and suicidal nights in alone. New Year's Eve, a night of introspection and reflection, full of joy and heartbreak, a night......well, I will refrain from digressing further, this is, after all Club The World, a clubber's website, and this is supposed to be a review, so.....wh…

  5. So, it is Boxing Day, over 24 hours without being able to go out, you have been nice to relatives, opened some disappointing presents, eaten and drunk too much of everything, and there is still nothing to watch on TV. What should you do? If you were in the Midlands (and even further afield), the choice was obvious, "the second installment of the Polysexual V's Insomniacz championship battle" Two of the bigger names from the "afterparty" scene, catering for the clubber with a taste for the harder side of life. And it was being held at Code, home of Godskitchen, and self-proclaimed "Superclub". 9pm finally arrives and I am suited, booted, and looking &…

  6. Many clubbers described Sunday Schools christmas special at the Bomb as "perfect". This indeed seemed to sum up the night, except it was cut short by selfish clubbers who had no respect for the venue or other people. As we entered the club we were greeted by really friendly staff who went out of their way to make you feel welcome and have a good time. The club itself was empty apart from a few early stompers lining the sides of the dance floor, and initially quite cold, but it sooned warmed up as did the atmosphere. From the word "go" the music was hard and banging at 160bpm and when Ian M banged out "bad ass", the few people there took to the dance floor with…

  7. How long have I been clubbing? It's gotta be since I started Uni, so we're looking at about two and half/three years. In that time, I've had a load of amazing experiences. I've heard 15,000 people chant "Lager lager lager" when Darren Emerson dropped Underworld's Born Slippy. I've pogoed around to 4Motion's Over4Me whilst Andy Farley yelled "Cheese!" next to me. I've sung along to Orbital's live rendition of Doctor Who. I've clubbed for 42hrs straight. I've watched the sun sink into the Mersey at my first ever Creamfields. But those events are nothing. Nothing compared to what I did on the 6th December 2002. I have had some amazing experiences in and around clubs, bu…

  8. As many of our London based members will already know, a great deal of the nights out in the capital start with three fateful words. Piano and Pitcher Being a south coast lad (and a student at that), there is still a big part of me that resents paying £5.50 for a double vodka coke (especially when I didn't ask for a double). Still, I can gripe later.... The meetup itself was in good spirits. Despite Creamy not being able to make it to the club afterwards, and James not being able to make it at all, a good few of us still went on to Wildchild. After haggling slightly for reduced entry (and some of us getting free entry, despite not being entitled - step for…

  9. Started by James,

Wow, is all we can say for this one. Wow. And that was just the car journey up there! 130mph all the way in an American Import Thunderbird, 150bpm hard house blaring into my ears is definitely the way to get yourself in the mood for an all night stomp fest. Anyways, enough of that. For a start, a quick shout out to everyone I was in the car park (C3, or 3C, I can't quite remember) with. Especially the gaggle (the correct collective term for a group of cyber kids) that numbered about 50 identically dressed fluoro teenagers opposite us - nice to see some individiuality amongst clubland! Given the length of the queue, waiting time to get inside only amounted to abo…

  10. Started by James,

With the Tidy Weekender still fresh in our minds, Tidy Trax delivered the second of their one-two double punch for this time of year, and the third Tidy London once again failed to dissappoint... The evening started off with the various CTW factions assembling themselves in All Bar One opposite Victoria Station. Special mentions to Johnny for leaving his makeup bag behind, and for James turning up slightly worse for wear. Must be his age, bless him. Anyways, champagne was ordered, merriment was had and we generally worked ourselves into an almost religious fervour. The revealing of LionelTheVinyl came as great amusment to the other people in the bar, particular…

  11. FRANTIC'S 5th BIRTHDAY @ HARD HOUSE ACADEMY, 10th AUGUST 2002 By Tony. P and Little Miss Loud. Arriving at the Brixton Academy just before the clock struck one, we joined the queue for the guest list. Due to unforeseen circumstances, Creamy C (Kevin from Club the World) was unable to attend, and Little Miss Loud stepped in to cover his absence. However, Mr Clipboard was concerned that Creamy C was sporting lipstick and pigtails! After convincing Mr Clipboard that Creamy C had undergone a sex change that afternoon, we entered the at the back of the Main Stage, where we were greeted by a sea of clubbers enjoying the remains of Spencer Freeland's set! Cortina…

  12. Started by James,

Frantic --> Hardhouse Academy --> Brixton Academy --> 26th October 2002 I went to Brighton a couple of months ago to meet a new CTW member - Ian Holder as I had missed the Fatboy Slim on the beach thingy and meeting up with him was long overdue. The ironic thing was that half the way into the night Ian whilst in a local bar Ian said to me "Why didn't we just go up Hardhouse Academy tonight?" - me being so naive hadn't even heard of such an event - in fact at the time I hadn't even heard of Frantic!!! Most people laugh at me for not knowing all this things but I only discovered proper Hardhouse music in March when I first met SarahPVC and she send me some '…

  13. Started by James,

When you think of a weekender, certain stereotypes might spring to mind. The weed fuelled hip-hop of Debeat, the up-their-own-arseness of tribal gathering (JOKE!), or the beard stroking, deep house noodle that is Southport. But when Tidy Trax throw a party for a weekend, the emphasis is on party. And the ClubtheWorld faithful went out in force. Their mission? Redefine messiness and put it in a brand new dictionary...... Friday Myself and Elly arrived quite early, about 4pm. This gave us plenty of time to settle into our modest (read: shite) accomodation, and trundle off to nab some food before we got so out of it we started trying to hunt seagulls. The loca…

O... my... GOD - what an absolutely incredible night - I was really gonna try and play this down as I didnt want to upset SarahPVC too much for not being able to make it !!! hehehehehehe *evil laugh ... Arrvied at All-Bar-One in London Bridge a bit late due to crossing over 3 different bridges across the Thames for some strange reason - some of the sign posting (or lack of it) is ridiculous - then again I should know better because I fecking work in London Bridge!!? Anyway, met up in All-Bar-One with, ermm - lets see - OddBall, Becky La La, Nice1Bruvva, Nice1Brivva's Lovely Mate (sorry Neil - can you remind me AGAIN what her name was - WHY am I so bad with names?!?…

  16. Started by James,

Right, well its about 4am, and a quite buzzing Wub Wub (ably assisted by Dooby *Dooby bows) have just got in from the Opera House. Slinky was the night, with Petrae Foy, Daniel Bailey and Scott Bond (hereafter referred to as 'Tubby') taking the controls. Trance of the highest order, methinks.... We got into Slinky quite early, about 9:30pm as per usual, and were treated to the wonderful Mr Petrae Foy demonstrating to us just why he is one of the most hotly tipped newcomers in the business. An impecable set was capped off by some sublime scratching (think Halliwell, but slower), and the use of classic tune Papau New Guinea to awesome effect of the by now quite larg…

  17. The biggest meetup yet showed us all how successful ClubtheWorld is for bringing many friends together into a single community! This week alone i have received many PM's from plenty of members thanking us all for introducing them to each other! Having arrived at The Kerry Man preclub meetup (pub) - BTW Thanx Mr_Moo 4 sorting that out- at around 9 o clock, the night just got better and better. Although the queue was more of a mob and possibly the longest ive ever had to wait to get into a club, it was 110% worth it. After finally making it through the door after at least an hour, we all walked into The Sanctuary, which was a fantastic venue for Sundissential an…
