Festival Overview

Gatecrasher returned to outdoor festivals in spectacular fashion with Summer Sound System 2008, delivering one of the UK's most ambitious electronic music events.

Held over the May Bank Holiday weekend at Turweston Aerodrome, the festival combined world-class dance music with live performances spanning electronic, indie, hip-hop and urban music.

The Prodigy headlined Saturday with their legendary live show, while The Chemical Brothers closed Sunday with one of their acclaimed audiovisual performances. Other major performances came from Paul van Dyk, Dizzee Rascal, CSS, Soulwax Nite Versions, Simian Mobile Disco and Digitalism.

Across 20 arenas, leading promoters and brands hosted dedicated stages covering every corner of dance music, including Dirty Disco, Hed Kandi, Fantazia, One Nation, Metropolis and Ed Banger.

Away from the music, the festival featured boutique camping, a 24-hour marketplace, gourmet food, fairground rides, secure lockers, VIP experiences, wellness areas, karaoke and numerous attractions designed to create a full weekend festival experience.
