Version 5.3.0 - 31st July 2026

New Features

  • Venue profile pages now show a description in the header, matching DJ profile bios.

  • Venue profile pages now show a Homepage link where a venue has a real-world website.

  • Added Linktree to the list of social/streaming links DJ profiles can show.

  • DJ profile social links redesigned as labelled buttons (instead of icon-only), with Spotify and YouTube added to the list - 56 more DJ profiles picked up social/streaming links as a result (now 131 DJs in total with at least one link).

Improvements

  • The Stats button on DJ profiles, and the Stats tab in the site-wide navigation switcher, are now icon-only to match the Share button and keep things tidy.

  • Improved how search engines index the site's filter pages, so real event / DJ / venue pages rank better instead of being buried among thousands of filter-combination variants.

Version 5.2.0 - 30th July 2026

New Features

  • Venue profile pages now show a gallery of recent event flyers/photos tagged with that venue - the same "Flyers & Images" treatment DJ profiles already have.

  • Added a new DJ Spotlight sidebar widget - a rotating mini profile card for a featured DJ, shown at random on pages around the site.

  • Added Bandcamp to the list of social/streaming links DJ profiles can show.

  • Added a new Brands section (/brands/) - dedicated pages for promoters and event brands (e.g. Frantic, Tidy), each showing their own upcoming events.

Improvements

  • Event cards and search results now link brand names straight to that brand's own profile page, instead of just filtering What's On.

  • San Antonio is no longer listed as its own city guide - it's now folded into Ibiza, since it's a district of Ibiza rather than a separate clubbing city.

  • The Cities directory now groups its city cards by country.

  • Behind-the-scenes performance improvements to venue, DJ and What's On page loading (faster, no visible change).

Fixes

  • Venue "View on map" links now show the venue's name and address instead of a bare set of coordinates.

  • Fixed several DJs (including all 13 headliners on Tidy Weekender 9, plus Jez & Charlie, Mark Gray, Trophy Twins and Dave Oldershaw) not being automatically recognised and tagged on events/forum posts.

Version 5.1.4 - 29th July 2026

New Features

  • DJ profiles now show a "Labels & Promotions" list of the record labels and club nights/promotions they're associated with.

  • DJ profiles now show a "Forum Topics" list of the latest forum topics they're tagged in, with a link through to the full archive when there are more.

  • Added a Cards / Compact / Preview view switch on What's On - choose a dense list, a smaller-thumbnail preview, or the original card grid, whichever suits how you like to browse. Your choice is remembered next time.

  • The DJs directory, and the Upcoming/Past gig grids on DJ profiles, now have the same Cards / Compact / Preview view switch.

  • Discovered and added social/streaming links (Instagram, Facebook, Spotify, etc.) to 73 more DJ profiles.

Improvements

  • Featured events now stand out with an animated glowing ring around the card, on both What's On and DJ profile gig listings.

  • DJ profile pages now load noticeably fewer database queries, with faster repeat loads (no visible change).

  • DJ profile header simplified: the separate "Topics" and "Events" buttons are gone now that content appears directly on the page - the remaining button was renamed "All Tagged Content" for clarity.

  • Small visual tidy-ups on DJ profiles: consistent section headings, and the gallery's "More Images" link now sits inside the gallery grid itself instead of the header.

Version 5.1.3 - 28th July 2026

New Features

  • Added a proper search box, appearing at the top of What's On, DJs, Venues, Stats, Cities, Map and Tag Cloud - search across DJs, venues, genres, towns and promoters in one go, with results grouped by type, not just event titles.

  • Added an A-Z jump nav to the DJs directory, and a matching one for Venues, so you can skip straight to a letter.

  • Added a Today / This Week / Next Week / Later jump nav to What's On, so you can scan straight to what you care about.

  • DJ profiles now show a "Flyers & Images" gallery of tagged photos from past events.

  • DJ profiles can now show a Mixcloud player alongside Spotify, where available.

Improvements

  • DJ profile pages reordered so upcoming/past gigs appear right after the header, with a jump nav to Gigs, Past gigs, Gallery, Discography and Mixes.

  • Cleaned up duplicate genre tags (Drum & Bass and Dance Valley variants) so related events and posts all show under one tag instead of being split across several.

Fixes

  • The new search box now sits on the same row as the site's What's On/DJs/Venues/Cities/Stats/Tag Cloud navigation on every page, instead of stacking below it.

  • Relabelled each page's own quick-search box (e.g. "Filter events"/"Filter DJs"/"Filter venues") so it reads clearly as a different tool from the new search box above it.

Version 5.1.2 - 27th July 2026

New Features

  • Added Cities hub pages - dedicated pages for London, Manchester, Ibiza, Glasgow, Birmingham, Liverpool, Brighton, Bristol, Leeds, San Antonio, Nottingham, Sheffield, Newcastle, Bournemouth and Edinburgh, each showing upcoming events, top venues, most-booked DJs and popular genres for that city.

  • DJ tag pages (e.g. /tags/andy-farley/) now show a "View DJ Profile" button linking through to that DJ's own profile page.

Improvements

  • The DJs and Venues directories' search boxes now use a proper, shareable web address and carry your search term forward when you click a filter, sort or date option, instead of silently losing it.

  • The Tag Cloud page no longer shows off-topic, non-clubbing tags left over from general forum chat.

Version 5.1.1 - 26th July 2026

New Features

  • New site-wide Tag Cloud page (/tagcloud/) - see every genre, DJ, town, venue and brand in one place, sized by how often each is used.

  • Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, Czech Republic and USA events can now be synced in as their own named region, instead of being lumped together under a generic "International" label.

Improvements

  • What's On, DJs and Venues now share one simplified filter bar: search plus three dropdowns (When, Region, Genre) and a "Filters" button showing how many further filters are applied, with everything else tucked inside. A row of removable chips below the bar shows every filter currently in effect. Nothing was removed - just decluttered (What's On dropped from 12 visible controls to 5, DJs from 14 to 6, Venues from 11 to 5).

  • Picking a date is now one control instead of four: a single "When" dropdown offers Tonight / This weekend / Next 7 days / Rest of this month / Next month, then a full month list, then custom dates.

  • Ibiza events no longer repaint the whole card yellow - the region now shows as a subtle coloured rail along the top of the card instead.

  • The Stats dashboard's summary tiles (Venues, Towns & cities, DJs billed, Genres) now jump straight down to their matching panel when clicked.

  • Skiddle-synced events now show a human-readable date in their title (e.g. "Peach (Saturday 1st August 2026)"), so the date is visible wherever just the title shows.

Fixes

  • Fixed dark-mode readability issues on What's On, DJs and Venues, where headings and body text were hard to read against the dark theme.

  • Fixed a font-loading bug where DJs and Venues silently fell back to the wrong typeface unless you'd visited What's On first in the same session.

Version 5.1.0 - 25th July 2026

New Features

  • New Stats dashboard (/stats/) - a scene-wide infographic view of every event, venue, DJ and genre on the site: event counts over time, busiest venues and towns, most-booked DJs, genre and region breakdowns, a night-of-the-week chart, festivals vs club nights, and an activity heatmap you can hover or tap for that day's gigs. Filterable by date range, region, type and genre. (Marked "Beta" while it's refined.)

  • Every DJ now has their own career stats page (/stats/dj/<slug>/), linked from a new "Stats" button on their profile - gig count, career span, scene rank, top venues/towns/genres, a career trend chart, a heatmap, and co-billed DJs who've shared a lineup with them.

  • Every venue now has its own stats page (/stats/venue/<id>-<slug>/) too, linked from a new "Stats" button on the venue profile - the same style of dashboard, scoped to that venue.

  • A shared navigation strip (What's On · Map · DJs · Venues · Stats) now runs across the top of all five apps, so you can always see and jump to any of them, wherever you are on the site.

  • DJ, venue and What's On event cards now cross-link to each other: event cards link the venue name straight to its profile, DJ tags link to their profile, and venue pages now show linked DJ chips for their events - instead of dead-ending in plain text.

  • DJ and Venue directories gained an explicit date-range filter, matching the one already on What's On.

  • Venue profile pages now show an embedded Google Map alongside the venue's details.

  • A DJ's profile can now show a "Read the interview" link where we have one on file.

  • 43 DJ profiles were restored from the site's original 2003-era DJ Profiles pages (including Mr C, Little Miss Loud, Tony P, Andy Bagguley and more), each with their bio and photo carried over, plus DJ profiles generally gained a discography list and SoundCloud/Mixcloud link icons.
