  2. The transition from DJing to music production can be smoother than expected, especially if you’ve spent time behind the decks. As a DJ, you’ve already developed essential skills like rhythm, song structure, and musical timing, which form a solid foundation for music production. Your experience with mixing tracks, reading the crowd, and understanding how different elements come together live gives you an edge when creating music in the studio. These skills will serve you well when you start crafting your own original tracks. While music production introduces new tools and techniques, many aspects of DJing—like familiarity with tempo, key changes, and arrangement—are directly applicable. You’ve honed the ability to blend genres, choose the right track for the moment, and build energy, all of which are crucial when producing your own music. In this guide, we’ll explore how to leverage your DJ background in areas like software selection, sound design, and arrangement to make the transition to music production easier and more intuitive... 6. Does anyone else follow 343 Labs' YouTube channel ? The content is soooo good ! ⭐ https://www.youtube.com/@343labs John Selway (a significant figure in the Techno scene) creates some amazing videos on how to produce & mix various genres (Techno, Electro), DAWs (e.g. Ableton Live) also tutorials about sound design - he's a fountain of knowledge, I've included a few of his videos below. He also does regular live streams (e.g. Selway's Techno Saturdays) where he reviews peoples' music production and gives pointers as to where a track can be improved or arranged better, so good ! He also has other top producers on as guests, for example Christian Smith 😁 John isn't the only tutor / instructor at 343 Labs - there are loads of others, honestly such a good channel - I wish I had found it years ago ! I've created a list of all the best music production YouTube channels I follow here, on my blog https://jamesm.blog/music-production/youtube-channels/ If anyone knows of any other music production channels not on this list please let me know or reply to this topic, I'm always on the lookout for new tutorials, cheers YouTube Videos
