if you're out of your 12 month contract, call customer relations and cancel the service giving Sky+ as your reason for cancellation (NTL are heamorraging customers to them at the mo).

 

The person you speak to first off will most likely offer you £10 a month off your cable package if you have the family pack or half price line rental on your phone or something similar.

 

Do not accept this offer but don't push for more from this person as thats all they can give away usually. You'll get another call upping the stakes closer to the disconnection date so take this offer.

 

If you have a cable modem for broadband access the same will apply and you can squeeze a few free months out of them, especially if you've had a load of problems with it!

I offer this help simply because I know from first hand experience what an absolute bastard company they can be sometimes, but often its just a case of knowing which hoops you have to jump through on the call centre merry-go-round.

nice 1....but i wish ntl would fucking lay cable in my area.....my ntl broadband was fantastic (MB bandwidth and more)....all i can get here is shite adsl (512k)

I took ntl to court a couple of years ago for adding unusual extras onto my telephone bill. Naturally I won.
