Sharp Buzzes

Hello people,

Many of you will remember participating the Mixmag 2004 Drug survey and also coming across this statement in the questionnaire:

"People using Ecstasy sometimes experience really sharp buzzes in their head (like an electric shock) towards the end of a session."

In the past year I have started to experience these so called 'sharp buzzes' whereas I had previosuly not.

The sharp buzzing feeling usually occurs maybe 1-2 days after a heavy session/weekend. The actual buzzes sometimes last a few seconds or for a few minutes in sporadic bursts.

I just wanted to know if anyobody else has experienced this and if so would you enlighten us with more details? Or does anybody know the exact reason for these sharp buzzes?

Thanks for your help people,

AlexV

I got a lot of "Electric Shock Syndrome" a couple of years back - became very scary at times and it actually ended up in me cleaning up my act - suffice to say this doesnt happen to me anymore.

I asked a GP about it - apparently its down to 'tiredness' or lack of 'proper' sleep and you can get this through drinking and not sleeping enough / properly as well - i.e. its not tied to one specific substance.

I found the more i went out the more regular i would have these - at one stage i had them daily all through the week until the next night out - not good

I remember posting about this lots on the old board and many people thought I was mad or making it up - so its nice to know its an actual respected syndrome !

Lot's of people get this, it is quite common & nought to panic over.

As James says it is linked to tiredness thumbsup.gif Just cut down & get some decent sleep wink.gif

Shaney - thanks for reminding me - the worst thing was indeed being WOKEN UP by these sudden & massive jumps - horrid - which is precisely why I cleaned up my act !

I have been getting them for years, even before I started doing chemicals, I have epilepsy & get with that along with sleep paralysis.

Best bet is as you say cut out the chemicals & give your body & brain a rest & get some good nights sleep in thumbsup.gif

The brain is made up of electrical impulses & it is at a guess a short circuit, wires crossing causing this sparking sensation/noise in the brian unsure.gif

Try looking on google, I know on here & on other sites may disscussions about this have happened & as I say I know a fair few people have experienced it.

Nice 1 lisa (about the information). I never knew you had epilepy, charlie j has it aswell, basically he needs a good sleep after a session and cant stay up for more than say 2 days or it can get quite dangerous.

I doubt that. The electrical signals in your brain are absolutely minute, between adjacent cells, we're not talking about national grid strength! smile.gif

You don't have sensation in your brain per se (an idea explored in Hannibal if you've seen it!!) grin.gif
