Yes it truly is devastating. I am counting my blessings because James and Maria where in Phuket just a few weeks ago.

They are very lucky to that they had the booking for their holiday when they did or they could have been amongst the carnage....

THANKYOU GOD

Thank god? If there is a god, why save a few and let near 100,000 people die?

I must admit this is my thinking as well now - how can any God let this happen - unless its punishment for all the wars etc we have - I guess even God can say 'f^ck it'

well I for one thank him and if you had family there and they were saved wouldn't you be thanking god too? or would you prefer they perish if all cant be saved????

Obviously, when nature takes it it's toll, you do not have any part of control in it what-so-ever. You can't stop it, nor can you change it. And yes, I do agree, that is there was a god, then these type things wouldn't happen / would be more controlled and more lives saved. In fact, no lives would be lost. But I can see where the defualt phrase 'Thank God' is used. Totally.

No point in being sarcastic about it. Really.
