Its really sad now looking back and knowing its never gonna be that good again. Still have a good time when I go out, but theres not half the people out there use to be - its actually gone back to I have to ask around again to check out whos' going as half the events now no1 even goes to.

Think it really hit me going to Camden Palace for Heat the other week - tho it was a wikid night there was only about half a dozen of us I even knew in the whole club. I dont just mean peeps who use to be off ctw but I use to know loads from clubbin generally and most dont even go out no more

the 'old days' can be the 'old days' again, whenever anyone wants them to be but it takes a few people to arrange/organise meets and nights out properly. Sadly myself and the other people who used to arrange such things just dont have the time or drive to do this and therefore the site is turning into a place whereby people can just check out whats on or have the odd chat about stuff. Personally although I miss the odd night out I simply dont have the time to go out as much as I did before and of course the old days with people like Sarah etc will never happen again anyway.

 

A night out shouldnt depend on a few key people to sort it out - people can go out and do still go out - i'm sure there are many people arranging meets on other boards but thats not to say peopel cant put their name down and start talking about nights and meeting up on here - this is afterall what the site was created for and has repeatedly proved itself to be of use in this area.

 

Speaking from my own situation I think I may be out a bit more in 2005 but then again I said that last year and unfortunately my social life is entirely dictated by my work and come the weekend I'm far too tired to think about going out and actually for the first time just enjoying chilling out and doing other things. Also things were a lot easier to arrange when I was based in London - my job has now moved out of London and I no longer live there either so if I do go out it tends to be in other areas.

 

As has been said many times before what sites like these need are people who are dedicated and who enjoy arranging things for people - there are very few people like this as most people wont do something for nothing and those that do dont stick at it unforunately. If the site had some kind of income then we could pay people to arrange stuff I guess but then that defeats the entire concept of the site being non profit making etc. The site is here purely to help aid people in meeting others and finding out about events - however there are so many better sites out there now you could argue sites like these no longer have a purpose. I still continue to enjoy the odd chat and meeting the odd person however, and also keeping in touch with people i've still not yet met and may never meet.

Everyone misses the 'old days' in their life going back however long. I know I deffinatly do and would love to turn back the clock 100 times over for old times sake

We always hark on about the old days... Back when those photos were taken, people were slating the way things were then and longing after the "old days" - ironically, people were talking about a period that came roughly a year earlier... Spot the pattern?

 

I see what people are saying, but it's about living for the now - about creating those great nights out again... About pulling ourselves together and going out and having a laff... I haven't been around properly for just over a year... But would be willing to have a good night out with everyone if we could get it sorted?

Nice one Bukey - this is precisely what I think needs to happen - I'd also be up for putting some more effort into socialising as this year has also been pretty quiet for me. Although I cant promise me out twice a week like 2 years ago lol

blah blah good old days. We've all had them but at the end of the day you either decide to organise a blinding night out and have a go at it or not. The good old days were great because they are the nights you really remember, but Im sure there were a handful of samey samey ones too. The music, atmosphere, people around you on a night out change and evolve - if we didnt we would still be down the bike sheds drinking cider which we thought at fifteen was a right hoot ! I admit that it does my box in on a night out (recent example in Cardiff for reference) when everyone around you seem have to be a bunch of pissed up tarted up wankers but in fairness I avoid those places/nights now. I go out a lot less, maybe once a month, but when I do I really enjoy it - Its not routine, I have no particular expectations of what Im going to get and I dont mind having a natter to someone random or dance to the off tune Im not fussed for cos I aint doing it all the time.

 

You get out what you put into a night out - and this board too - so cmon the miserable buggers among you. Less moaning - more doing.
