U got any more pix from today Phil?! lol that was one mad party. Tho there wasnt masses from ctw there it was a reminder of how good the ol days was and one of the best house parties I been to with really sound bunch of friends!

Camden Palace was wikid yesterday - having everybody back there again even tho there was hardly any from CTW there. It would be good to have the meets back again though.

I do disagree with what you say tho James about theres other clubbin websites out there doing the same job. Harderfaster is the only public board that comes to mind and I'd in no way say that that is a board for getting to know new people or to arrange a clubbin meet on. In general I'd say its the most hositle to newbies and cliquey board - for wanabe djs and hangers on to promotors/djs there is out there. (btw for posters on there Im not saying everyone on there is an arse - their not but in general its not the board you'd go to to arrange a meet up as the majority in those posts are far too (or think they are!) cool to actually arrange a meet up!) That is one thing that CTW always had and still has is genuine people wanting to hook up for clubbin. I've met a lot of really good friends thro this site and its a shame the way the meet ups dont happen anymore or ones that do are few and far between.

I've also noticed that people arnt as friendly in general in clubs as when I started out clubbin and so whereas I use to go to a club and know a lot of people, a lot of those people now dont go out anymore or not as frequent, so often find its only 3 or 4 out rather than the 20 - 30 it use to be that does make an impact on the vibe of a night. Going out to camden yesterday and seeing prob 30 - 40 people I'd made friends with over the yrs in there was really nice and def like the good times we've had in the past. But I guess we have to accept that its only going to be a small number of events a year this will happen at now rather than every week and its back to the 3 or 4 I know will be there which although will still make it a good night its not quite the same as the old days when there was big meet ups and in general much friendlier/up for it crowd than there seems to be these days at certain events.

Tho for me CTW was only part of it - Camden Palace and the friends I met there over the yrs were what seemed to be dwindling after camden closed, but have seen the New Year in best way ever with one of best nights out I had and mad mad afterparty going on til a few hours ago.

That wildchild meet up that Drew posted thing the liunk to was one of the best weekends of my life! I had an amazing time with Crill, Jilly, steph and Moo that weekend.

And yes, I do miss those "good old days" but I also know that hopefully I can have them back again if we are all willing to meet up like before. Once I have January past me I'l be [picking up where I left off last summer again and hope pple like you Drew (and all the others - Tash, Tara, and everyone else I have met) are still up for meeting up when I come over.

Agreed, if everyone is up for it then sure I'm bang up for putting some effort into arranging a meet up say once a month again. Problem is that people (especially me now!) are so 'spur-of-the-moment', not everyone wants to commit themselves to anything specific - but I would be willing to especially if the people who have replied to this thread are also serious about meeting up again more regularly.

 

As Smitten days I think a lot of the past nights I've had have in fact been 'mediocre' (*sp!) and so its just a question of having the odd decent night organised and not necessarily too many of them - for example if there was only 1 ctw meet every 3 months - I'm sure most people would make the effort to be there.

agreed im up for it and well we need to change areas aswell not always london say we need north and midlands too like gods, sunnis, passion, wildchild, frantic and then whatever is up north not that i can get there but can do midlands and south as much as possible

agree...im definately up for group meets once every 3 months but as long as they are not all in london..

i still really enjoy my nights out like the "good old days" but im getting old now so perhaps im clinging on to my youth?!

Time moves on as do we. It was new and exciting back then and tbh it's become stale now.

 

I would love more nights out when there was loads of us together up for a good time, without people pulling out at the last minute.

 

Unfortunately the last big meet I made it to was at Mission for Sarah's last night. I seem to remember we all agreed to get meeting more often yet nowt has happened.

 

And further to previous posts, get some of these meets outside London - there is life outside the M25 ya know!

I'm deffo serious about being up for more meets!! Agreed, we shouldn't just do London - but by the same token, we should deffo make sure we do do London as well....

 

I know that some will just come for the meet/event itself - but if we're only doing one every 3 months, how about doing them old fashioned style - making a weekend of it for those that want to?

 

As well as London and Brum, there's Leeds, Sheffield and Manchester that could be included...

defo agree with meets in other places other than London, as I always felt it was unfair to certain members who made the effort to come from north etc to London & it felt like it wasntt returned that often if that makes sense

Aslong as its organised a good bit in advance, im up for going anywhere really. I would rather go to different places instead of just the name nights like wildchild and frantic all the time.

Ive done gods a few times and loved sunnys, so wud deffo like to do leeds, manchester etc
