Okies... How does this sound...

-------------------------------------------------------

The Return of the ClubTheWorld Weekender... CTWers go central for a weekend of fun, frolics, laffs and good times with mates old and new. Presenting...

CTW CentreCore #01

Date: 18th - 20th February 2005

Location: Midlands

Hitting the Midlands for the first time in 2005, CentreCore will be a weekend of events for CTWers. The weekend is so called because it's getting back to the core elements of CTW and the meet will be held in a central region. With a weekend full of events, people can take part in those that they want to, miss those that don't appeal, and bolt on their own sub-events.

The weekend will kick off with a birthday party of style for NeoN @ Passion in Coalville. Watching the world's number one DJ, Tiesto, it's all about joining in the birthday celebrations and giving NeoN a birthday to remember.

After that, the party moves to Birmingham on the Saturday afternoon for the CTW Bowling Championships... We'll play with our balls and our pins and have a laugh in the process.

The Saturday evening will include a mini-pub-crawl, before those that want to head off to a club.

Sunday and x, y, z will take place before we say our goodbyes and head home back to normality...

-------------------------------------------------------

There's a few gaps, and plenty of scope for it to be pulled apart... But in principle, what do peeps think?

I've organised plenty of meets (not for CTW) in the past... I'd be willing to do it for the Midlands, as it's easier to do it for a location close to you... Meets I've arranged in London when I wasn't living there have been a bit more awkward, but there's plenty of others down there to do that.

If someone could help with the Coalville/Passion side of things for CentreCore, I'll give it a whirl at sorting it out?

Oh, and that's also if NeoN's okies with his birthday bash being part of a wider weekend of events?

well it's worth giving it a go, but I think what needs to be done is for real communication between members & the events organisers, say it was you for the midlands, Tash for London & whos from the north?? anyway, to disscuss dates etc places, to get members from all over to come & make sure it doesnt clash with other stuff etc etc & I reckon this could be a winner & as I say even for now if James can get some cards CTW issued out to members all over who go out frequently then we can get the site built back up etc etc & take it from there??

Bukey - nice one - as you know it normally takes someone like you to just make the effort and do something without having to be asked to do so and its also important that people are self sufficient and can just get on with things. You obviously understand the concept here and what we're trying to achieve so we're already ahead in the game.

I'll speak to you this weekend about this and try and get some ideas flying around - this time we'll ensure that these ideas are actually put into practice and not just talk - we'll back up our ideas & decisions with action.

Thanks for your input this week - I will contact you either tonight or tomorrow at home.

Cheers,

Lisa,

Thanks for your input as well - I agree that I need to get cards out to these members ASAP now as its now clear that we DO in fact have a base of people here who really DO want to progress with the meets. It just takes a few of us to buy back into all this and get the ball rolling properly.

RE: clashes - sadly I think these are always going to happen and people WILL complain and miss out - but its crucial we stick to originally planned dates and locations - the worst thing we can do / did before was to make changes to plans for people who in the end didnt turn up anyway ! I know there are people who read the forums who dont necessarily put their name down early on but make a mental note of an agreed date... only to then be disappointed nearer the time because we've gone and changed to date for the benefit of a select few - this isnt fair and should be avoided at all costs. We want to ensure we build a good name here for getting things organised well and not changing detail or cancelling plans.

I must admit I thought I'd have to leave this for another 6 months until the membership went up slightly but it sounds to me as though we have more than enough interested members again.

I've been careful not to take certain comments about the 'good old days' too seriously as quiet often the people who post this stuff only come on here to state exactly that - and never actually help solve the problem - this time it seems different and people DO want all this activity back - which is excellent as its what the site is still aiming to do longer term.

well yes, my sentiments exactly, they pop up post a pic of us all & say the good old days & then dissapear for another 3 months & now im a believer if you want this & that stick the fuck about dont post a pic say how good it was then piss off, no disrespect Drew but you have done it a few times & your point exactly is??? unsure.gif

Truth be told yeh there was some good nights & we had some good laughs but that doesn't mean we dont anymore!! Cos we do & we can thumbsup.gifhappydance.gif

As for clashes James agree but I what I mean ref this is if we communicate better we can where we can avoid it so it doesnt happen too much if that makes sense, yes there is always gonna be something on but with proper planning & stuff we can avoid big let downs & clashes yay.gif
