I agree sorry guys, not meaning to piss on your parade but lets not start by using CTW to get cheap entry & adding fake names etc cos end of the day if only 15 turn up when 30 should have because you have added an extra 15 then it looks bad on CTW & James no-one else really eh & then we get no favs in the future smile.gif

Having promoted, and also being close to some other promoters, it's useful to know when people are having board/organisational meets at events...

For groups, there's normally no probs with many events in getting added to a paying guestlist... A lot of events run a paying guestlist anyway, and in such cases it's there for the asking for anyone (not just groups)... The worst outcome is that there isn't a paying guestlist, so there's nothing lost....

I wasn't suggesting freebies, and I wasn't suggesting using CTW's name in a bad light/to blag... I was suggesting it's useful for promoters to know that CTW is taking a group of people and therefore supporting their events, and ask for paying guestlist as we're holding a meet there... I wouldn't even hint at figures - it would be wrong to give numbers as it is impossible to accurately predict.

If they do allow us to use a paying guestlist, we'll have a date by which we need to add people to that list - and we simply contact them once with that list just before the deadline. Those on it are on it, those that aren't aren't...

I speak to the promotor over email as I put up info and banners for him from time to time - I'll mention this and our meet on the next email and get back to you

thumbsup.gif Paying guestlist etc & discount on large groups is cool & most or if not all events do this, some even do discount for students & for people on income support & jobseekers.

I was just agreeing with Maria in ref to Dani's reply & incase promoters happen to read, you just never know who is reading & we know it was not ment in any bad way however some reading may not see it like that flowers.gif

sorry - i'm a bit slow reading all the posts - missed a few

just to mirror what maria and lisa have said - its crucial we are 100% honest about our attendance figures and the names we put down on any associated guest lists - people will run the guestlists regardless of numbers and if we are honest we will get more and more good and exclusive deals in the future. I've never agreed with adding fake names and then allocating these last minute to any random person on the night.

We've found that promotors and event organisers will come back to us time and time again with offers if we can gaurantee certain numbers attending. I was always 100% honest with events like Wildchild saying I couldnt promise selling a certain amount of tickets etc. and I think they respected this and hence why we had and have a good relationship with events such as these.

I'm sure long term we WILL be able to gaurantee expected attendance figures - we just have to be patient and honest in the meantime
