A few words for you: Harry Enfield and Chums...

 

LB is just the new version of it, updated for the times... Yup, it's a certain type of humour - and it's actually quite intelligent humour - it's aiming at things on lots of different levels, and different people will pick up on different bits of humour within it... That said, I'm not saying you have to be intelligent to find it funny, rather that intelligence was used to create the humour in the first place.
