i inslatted service pack 2 yesterday without backing anythng up and its all gravy!

nah its fine to install - i'm pretty impressed with it - but quite a bit tighter on security so you have to manually enable a few things here and there for downloads etc

 

impressed so far though. lots of dialog boxes & warnings improved upon

well after trying to install it gave me a "couldn't install" msg and tried to un install itself. it didn't succeed

I can never seem to install that bloody Service Pack thing, I keep getting pop-ups saying its ready to install so I click on it and it downloads it but always fucks up halfway through installing it.

 

Oh well, never mind.

I still aint installed it yet, well i did but it fucked me comp up abit so i uninstalled it.

It's pretty important to install SP2... It contains over 900 security fixes and feature updates. It does change the way Windows works under the bonnet in places, and so some programs will throw wobblies....

 

That said, software houses should be bringing out updates (if they haven't already) to resolve any issues. SP2 contains major security fixes, and as such needs to be installed as soon as is practical...

Another MS related tip, in conjunction with Ad-aware and Spybot use Microsoft Anti Spyware.
