Phil that may be in some cases, but not all.

 

I know for a fact that Phil Green gave the £100,000 out of his own pocket. This wasnt the companies money, it was his own.

As for the merchandise given, i see it as Mr green just using his means (a large company that specialises in clothes and homewear) to give what is needed out there.

 

As for doing it just for the companies image, its not even really been publicised. Did any of you know about it?

I'm not meaning to be cynical or anything, but saying a few lines in front of a camera sitting on a settee means jack, at the very most it's just nice publicity for them saying "hey we are really nice caring people, and here we are getting afew seconds of national TV airtime"

Said on GMTV that they've donated £90,000 I think? May seem a lot but Steven Speilberg and the missus has given a million and you dont see him standing up and making a publicity stunt about it.

On a less cynical note though at least it may encourage people to fess up some dosh. In work we have so far raised £40,000 as the company has matched all the contributions we have made and stuck in more besides.

Just when you think the human race is full of the "I'm all right Jack" mentality, people can do some stuff that is pretty fucking amazing.

 

However, the Passport Office is actually going to make everyone who lost their passports pay for new ones ! The government gives aid with one hand, and takes it away with another.

Probably couldnt make any decisions that may be considered morally right..after all Tony B couldnt even come back from his soddin holidays. We are all Mr Help the World when it comes to waging war but when we have the opportunity to do something really good and make a positive impact we dont bother. With privilege comes responsibility and it wouldnt hurt the government to put their hands in their pocket a bit more. Or send that tosser Harry off to clear up some rubble or something rather that titting about like a spare hand at a wanking party.

I know hun just on a rant about how shit our government is.. but I reckon lot of celebs do this sort of stuff as a bit of a PR thing unfortunately..7

 

saw Jamila on the CV earlier though on a bit of an advert thing just thanking the British public for their superb response to the appear. thought that was a nice gesture on the part of the fund raisers.
