Cleaning CD 'trays'.

Not sure how I am to do this ?

I have a 3-disc changer, and when I play CD's, only 'some' of them skip / jump on certain tracks. It's not the CD that is damaged / scratched, because they play perfectly will in other CD devices. I don't want to take it to the shop because it will probably cost a fortune and will be held back for months.

Any ideas how I can do this myself without taking the thing apart ? It's p^ssing me off because I can't listen to my fav tune without it jumping back to the previous bloody track. Fumming.

Cheers.

Well how can you dust inside the trays ? You can't. I often blow inside it to blow any excess dust - but then I don't think you are meant to do that. I will get the CD cleaner . . . thumbs.gif

put a small dish of water in the tray.

it'll clean the laser nicely and remove any fluff and dirt built up

water should be fine on anything electrical. doesn't conduct electricity.

they use water to clean bits of pylons, you know.
