Sites for samples ?

Does anyone know any sites where you can actually download samples from well known tunes to remix, or do peeps normally take the samples themselves ?

i gernally write the the orginal producer and ask them to send me the tools for a remix, there are probally websites out there, i'll have a look for yas

we've still not heard any your tracks...

Jimmy, you'll find once you get more into your producing, you'll find that you have to be confident in your own work, which i am not, depite nice reviews from friends and family, nothing has clicked in me yet.

 

however this doesn't stop me from passing information from one producer to another where i can, and as i have done in my previous post, Ben also gave me a good idea of putting together a tutorial bassed on 'SystemF - Out of the blue'. It came together when i decided to show the adverage person the work iinvolved in producing a track, as most people just year the finished production, they dont hear the making of the melodies, formating structures, writing manuscripts this is of course before you even look at producing the track in whatever chosen software.

it lists 321 sample and loop sites, i've not had the time to look at them, tho could possibly help you in what you want to achieve

Chris: I suppose I'm looking to get the individual samples that make up (well known) songs so that I can fuck about with them. I really wanna remix Born Slippy.

You probably want midis and accapellas then hun if ur on about remixing.. i got a load if u want, u could go on soulseek and have a look on there on my share folder then download them from there?

If you want the individual samples you prob have to do what Mark said and contact the record company etc. You could try ripping samples from the tune or reproducing them with whatever hardware/software you use.

Chris: Iv'e managed to get a few decent samples onto my 505 which I'll whack onto my comp. Talking to my mate who connected his sampler to his TV and recorded some wikid samples from Aliens ! Think I'll have a go at that aswell !!
