well i'm back from my sober night in trade. the only thing to pass my lips woz liquid coke. no booze, and no illegal substances, and i out-danced every1 in the club.

 

pete wardman woz the man, whipping the crowd into a massive frenzy with his mix of anthems, and new stuff alike

 

but on a sad note.............the rumour on the grapevine is that this woz the last ever trade, as dwindling numbers, muscle mary alley bein like a ghost town, and other reasons has forced laurence to re-think about the future of trade

 

more will be known in the next few weeks.

have just noticed you're from manchester. am on the look out for a decent night out in manchester along the lines of fuckny house/trance type, nothing too hard to break my fella in gently. must be in a nice club too, nothing too basic like in an empty warehouse like the sanctury was in MK.

 

any suggestions?

I read this too Dave ref Trade & if they had of advertuised it as the last one I bet it would have been queues round the block trying to get in.

 

from what I can see & have read from different reviews over the last few months etc is the music changed etc

i don't think clubs like twist have helped trade much either. let's not forget, trade had the monopoly on afterhours clubbing for just over 10yrs, and as newer nights have sprung up, they've eaten into trades numbers. plus these nights getting former residents of trade, ie Ian M etc hasn't helped the situation either, as Ian has a massive following.

I disagree Dave, Twist is the only weekly sun morning after party all the others in London are monthly & they cope ok.

 

I do think that the Trade itself had changed a fair bit as clubs/events do & people move on etc etc & unfortunately I think it is just an end of an era for another great event

 

Twist has only recently taken off after 2 years also, it took Steve et al a long while to get it off the grounbd & even now it's a mixed reaction from peeps, the marmite of clubbing!!

 

I agree with you ref the loads of events etc etc & it is I think slowly going up it's own arse if you like & Hard dance I think is going through a major change & with this some events have suffered whilst others have gained, no names mentioned here

 

Too many people wanting a slice of the pie & the pie just aint big enough basically

i'm not dissing twist, as you well know lisa, i love that place, but all these other nights are trying to emulate what trade has done over the years.

 

true, nights do go through a lot of changes, but as with everything in life, when it's gone, people will moan to get it brought back, only for them not to bother going, which wastes laurences time, and turnmills. only the faithful trade goers should have the right to demand trade stays.
