There's nothing like a good old drama and boy have we got one for you!

 

The tidy Après Ski event due to take place on 1st May at the Xsite centre in Castleford has hit a Titanic problem. A Magistrates visit on Monday resulted in the venue not receiving it's required fire certificate and with a return visit not possible until the 5th May, the venue's opening has been delayed. This of course means that tidy's hotly anticipated event will no be held at the Xsite centre.

 

Xsite Management write:

 

“The planned opening in late April of XS!TE – West Yorkshire’s leading events venue - has been delayed until mid May.

 

As a result, the initial three events for this period have had to be postponed or moved to other venues. The Full FX ‘Destruxion’ event, the Cage Warriors event and the prestigious Tidy ‘Apres Ski’ experience have all been relocated.

 

We would like to apologise to all those who had planned to attend any of the affected events, we are sorry, not only to the promoters who have all been working extremely hard to make their events memorable, but also to the customers who have bought tickets. We share the frustrations of our clients and are grateful for their understanding. The venue specification has been continually upgraded over the past few months to enable promoters to invite more guests to enjoy better facilities, and most importantly be a safe environment for everyone to enjoy. This has, unfortunately been one of the factors that has led to a deficit in the time allowed to open.

 

As with all new ventures there have been various obstacles and challenges, often these issues have been beyond our control. In order for us to provide the best facilities and infrastructure it has been an unfortunate necessity to delay our opening until later next month. We hope to announce our official launch next week.

 

Once again we apologise unreservedly to all those affected by this decision”

 

The tidy team have worked for a solid 36 hours, some without sleep, to carry out a venue search of glacial proportions. Rather than throwing in the towel we've literally moved Heaven and Earth to make sure this event happens in some shape or form to avoid disappointing the hundreds who had already bought tickets. After much deliberation the chosen setting is STYLUS – the award winning nightclub situated at Leeds University. While we know we can't recreate what we wanted to achieve at Xsite you can be rest assured, as with all tidy events, the level of production and entertainment will not disappoint!

 

Given the limitations of finding a suitable venue on Bank Holiday Sunday within 10 days we have had to make some compromises. Opening earlier than previously billed, the ‘Après Ski Alternative’ will kick off at 4pm and close at 12.30am. This gives you plenty of time to re-charge your batteries and enjoy the bank holiday Monday that follows.

 

Russell Pate, Managing Director of tidy said “This is a really shitty situation that is not of our making. We are determined to make the best of a bad situation and we hope that you'll appreciate that here at tidy we feel the party must go on!

All existing ticket holders are entitled to a FULL REFUND or a PART REFUND (the £6 ticket difference) when you contact tidy HQ on events@tidy.com. Please note we need your request in writing so please do not call the office to arrange your refund.

 

You have until 5pm on Wednesday 27th April to request a refund.
