But it will only cost you a tenner to put some credit on your mobile, instead of £50 for your landline. Problem solved, you can still send texts and make the important calls, you just won't have the net.

Phone up BT (remember to get thew persons details that you speak to) and ask them to keep you on incoming calls while you pay it off weekly at a rate you and they agree on.

BT aren't cunts about it, and they only demand money that day or to be cut off totally if the bill was sent months and months ago and you haven't contacted them to arrange payment. Explain to them that you have every intention of paying but that you are in a bit of a financial dilemma at the moment and that you need to feed your children and keep them warm so can't not pay your gas and electric money on the phone and while you will pay as much as you can possibly afford each week, you simply can't afford to pay it all in one go.

Also tell them that they can monitor your payments each week so that if you miss one then they can cut you off, but to at least give you the chance to pay it - as you're sure that they'd rather you paid the bill than them cut you off and send you to a debt collectors with the risk of it not being paid at all.

I know what i'm talking about here as i was in a position a few years ago where i hadn't been paid by work and had to set up a payment plan with them and i also know others who have done the same. Also it might be worth remembering in future that you can't rely on people to pay the bills they say they will.. as has happened in this case, your boyfriend split with you before the bill came so therefore he didn't pay it. If you know you can't afford something and someone offers to pay for it, then only get it when you know that you can afford to pay it if they don't stick to their word. It's a shame but things like this happen and you've just got to protect yourself as much as possible so that things like these don't happen. smile.gif

Dani please dont think im having a go here, im talking as a mate & from what im reading here it would appear you are living beyond your means sweetie & you need to sort & prioritise things abit.

The net & the landline as I stated earlier shoul;d be on the bottom of the bill list.#

As Claire states spend a tenner on topping the mobile or find a phone box surely there are more than one around, we keep hearing your sob stories honey & TBH you need to be reminded that you are not the only one who has been in these situations & there are ways around them.. But seriously if I was you I would work out what is important & do some maths suger thumbsup.gif

while i do agree with what Lisa says, i would reiterate, that more importantly over and above things like heating and food, is to go out as much as possible and get trashed*

*no, really.
