i no what ya saying lisa but my fone is broken i cant top up a fone i cant use and i need to get in touch with doctors, my mum, ect as they are important thats why i got worked up, my mum is still in hospital from a tia stroke 2 weeks ago she cant call me i have to call her at the hospital the nearest fone box is also trashed lol so i havnt a clue where the next 1 is i have paid what i could today i missed my electric it can wait till next week to pay double i can only pay what i have got in my purse or bank which is in the minuses too

i havnt had a fone months i have been paying 10 quid a week more than what they wanted and they did it cos of a missed payment last week as ive been told now because i was in hospital i have to pay off the direct debits i cancelled and then il be re connected still means 50 quid and ive paid net today as thats seperate so they cant cut it off, bloody arse holes they are as i know what i was told and i know where they are changing it to benefit them

even thought the 2 direct debits cancelled have been paid bloody arse holes

But if you were in hospital then couldn't you just have paid it when you got out at the post office and then phoned them up with the receipt number so they knew you'd paid? I think they would have understood to be fair.

 

Net will still be disconnected if your phoneline is as you need a phoneline to run your net connection.

 

What direct debits did you cancel and why?

the bt direct debits were cancelled and switched to me verbally agreeing to pay that same set amount and more by payment card, and i had used the money to get to whipps cross hospital and feed my son whilst i was there i had to send my friend out to mcdonalds with him to get some dinner so by time i got out it was saturday nite it had been cut off god knows wen as i rarely use my fone anyway accept in emergencys, sunday and yesterday post office were closed,

i cancelled the direct debits because it was too much taking 25 quid out of my account on same week as bank did for a loan wen i moved in my flat i needed furniture so they agreed it was easier for me to pay weekly and catch up, my fone is in coming only so my net as it is now is still running and they letting me catch up but want 50 quid straight up to put me back on outgoing calls. i wouldnt be so bothered if i wsnt ill and my mum weasnt in hospital and i cant be arsed to explain anymore bt have told me one thing then done another simple as and demanding i pay more than i can in 1 go

well maybe getting rid of the net might be a good idea? just thinking if you're struggling to pay for things you really do need to prioritise. just a thought.

plus it isnt a fact of not affording its a fact of exs leaving me in lurch and bt wanting it paying altogether thats what i cant afford to pay in 1 go not instalments i do pay

But if you don't have/can't afford a phoneline for it to go through then you're going to have to make do without it hun. I know your ex left you in the lurch with it, but if you could afford it then it shouldn't have created such a massive problem.

 

I've been in a similar situation and i just had to admit i couldn't afford everything i wanted and that keeping my flat, feeding myself (basic food, no treats unless i could afford them) and making sure all important bills were paid before i could allow myself any non essential things like phonelines/internet etc.

 

If it does come to that for you and you do need to get rid of the phoneline and net then don't feel too down about it or like you've failed in some way as you haven't and you will have done the right thing if it makes your life a little easier.

 

You can always get it back again once you can afford it and enjoy it without worrying about where the money for the bill is coming from!! x

Wise words Miss DC I think most of us have at some point been in this situation & Dani we know it is not easy etc but we are all just trying to help here but you need to seriously sort your priorities etc.

 

I know your mother is in hospital & you need the phone, but in all reality you need a phone so that the hospital can contact you, so if you give them your mobile nuimber then no prob is it really

Has your neighbour got a phone?? or could you not leave a good frienbds number with them, there are ways round other than seriously getting yourself in debt again etc etc Dani

It's the aerial isn't it? I think you can pick them up quite cheap, or otherwise i could send you an old one of mine (it's really quite old but it does work which is the main thing) and you can use that?! x
