but it is where the money comes from

Bingo... quite a lot of pop-dance is created by hardcore/hard dance producers who need to make a living somehow (there is very little money to be made in the harder sides of dance music scene as a producer)

Dont forget, a love of music doesnt put food on the table...

thats exactly what i told domo on msn that most the tunes or even like the tidy tv annuals enter the commercial side of thing to get money for there career and all the cheese dance tunes too. like lonliness i will always like that tune even though it was over played on the charts and iio rapture was a top tune.

all the big artists enter the commercial dance side one way or another

Take TDV, easily the most well-known hard dance producer (even though he has been dead for several years now)... he remixed the likes of Ant n Dec, Louise Nurding, Eternal, S-Express, Taylor Dayne and shitloads more 'pop' acts

Commercial ventures make it easier to continue working with the scene you have your heart in because it can help fund it

never took all that lot into account i guess. however i do like that tomkraft - loneliness tune and i used to like the iio - rapture tune but now im only into the remix versions that are more trancey than the original.

i don't mind this kinda music, ill even listen to it. it just really strikes a nerve when they take a really good tune and imo ruin it!

so many of the really good sing along hardcore tunes have been remixed by flip & fill and others like them and imo they completely spoil them - all they seem to do is slow them down and completely change the music behind them to something cheesy. mad.gif

Thats your opinion though, people who enjoy that sound may say they were too fast, have too many high-pitched squeels in and were undancable originally... its just making it acessible for other people which is never a bad thing really

Interesting fact... Flip & Fill used to be known as 'Bus Stop' and did that rather famous remix of 'Kung Fu Fighting' many years ago (ok, so maybe its not interesting afterall lol.gif )

i don't just mean the happy hardcore version of things. not everything to do with hardcore is like that. rolleyes.gif

theres loads of songs that were amazing but have been ruined and are decent dance tunes that could of been used as they were, not sure of the names of a lot of them as ive only heard they in mixes, but things like Q-Tex -Power of Love.

Maybe I'm just biased as those songs have got amazing memories from when i first got into the music and first started taking them little bastards (which is probably why the songs still send shivers up my spine). w00t.gifeek.gif

One that really bugs me is scooteres version of im raving, im raving. vinylgroovers version was a classic, with so many memories! grin.gif

oh yeah, and another one that was ripped off on a floor fillers CD, Open Your Eyes (not sure who it was by originally) but that and the power of love are two banging tunes.

I dj hardcore + freeform so I understand what your saying, but sometimes you gotta look at things from the perspective of people who aren't into 170bpm stomping...

Dont forget as well though, both Hixxy's "Raverbaby" label and Scott Browns "Evolution" label (along with many other labels... Impacts "FBI" label is just as bad) are based on hardcore tracks which steal ideas/leads/vocals from other tracks so its all swings n' roundabouts really...

lol i don't mind people ripping people's tracks off - its when they do it and do a truely rubbish remix of it that bugs me.

i think an awful lot of vocals on hardcore tunes are from other songs, often ones that aren't dance in the slightest. i might be wrong but is just a theory i have. smile.gif

and of course the raverbaby label can do no wrong... bigwink.gif

although i was a big pee'd off that when hixxy organises the line up for slammin vinyl events and he fell out with sharkey and co he stopped putting them on the line up. was really annoying because that was when i would still travel down to milton keynes (yes all 8 hours of it lol) to go and sharkey was never on. sad.gif

You missed my point.. from a hardcore fan perspective, there are some truely dire remixes of hardcore tracks... but people who made them originally could say the same thing about hardcore remixes in the first place if they dont like hardcore

They are... very few vocals in hardcore are original lyrics, although quite a lot are re-sung
