commercial is also good cos how do u think the club scene is kept alive, kids hear the stuff and get into it before able to go clubbing and when they can they are our new ravers.

and domo can remember u saying u got into it by the gods kitchen albums and stuff they are also commercial as advertised and sold in a shop like hmv not jus by certain record labels tongue.gif

aye erm, ive never actually gone and bought a godskitchen, though i would like to sometime. it was CreamLive 2001 that got me, but even though it was commercialised tunes, they were really good ones: agnelli & nelson "vegas" is an awesome tune! and others with it. it was in the next few years to come that i found the commercial side went really down-hill. it all started after flip & fill released "shooting star" and the rest simply followed; releasing the first clubland album and also trance masters and all the clubmix albums and others like it. actually, they are all owned by All Around The World. so they make lots of money by releasing about 3 albums at the same time with pretty much the same tunes on it, only in a different order or a different remix

another reason for not knowing where the whole 'Bonkers' series were up to was because of the folding of the label and re-starting of another, and thus the whole React / Resist thing going on rolleyes.gif ...whilst all the time, the (albeit *sometimes* slightly endering of the 'commercial' side in parts) Bonkers compilation cd's were left out in the cold sad.gif

tbh, im glad they've brought a few out now w00t.gif and i think they're on a two - albums - a year strategy anyways, so its not as if they're overflooding the market tongue.gif unlike say the MOS Album's, or the numerous amounts of stilton that's being released time and time again by the AATW label and its many children blink.gif ...so it aint all bad with Bonkers ...eh Dani? bigwink.gif

I dj hardcore + freeform so I understand what your saying, but sometimes you gotta look at things from the perspective of people who aren't into 170bpm stomping...

pfffffft! amateurs! rolleyes.gif ...they just dont know what they're missing wicked.gif

tbh, the whole 'commercialisation' and 'ripping off' of other people's work, is an argument that will never die, and nor will it ever be settled lol.gif ....so we might as well just let 'em all get on with it, and make up our own minds, on what we do and dont like, and what we're willing to be involved in, within the industry we love s'much yes.gif

Shooting Star has been out a lot longer than that as far as im aware its a proper classic old skool hardcore tune. infact in its original form was the first hardcore tune i heard, followed by Children of The Night.

yeah but would it be the same if it was hardhouse? somehow i don't think everyone on here would think it was boring then.

the bonkers albums are great for the hardcore industry as they aren't just some watered down version of the music, those DJ's will actually play sets like that normally. it's great for the industry as it gets people listening to the music ad eventually some of them people who buy it will decide to come and listen to the music themselves.

plus they've got sharkey in on it which can't be a bad thing. tongue.gif

re bonkers yes any industry that brings that many albums out in so many years called the same thing is boring and considering they are a rip off of the old live tape packs yet they are the biggest money makers going

i do like hardcore as i said about shooting star i guessed that as i started clubbing at the sanctuary in milton keynes at the age of 16 to helter skelter events im in a few of the old videos they did with my mates and was proper into it back then but was young back then at that age u didnt no much about tunes and stuff jus dropped a few little ones and jumped about and was wrecked lol.

same as all the tidy albums and stuff i never have bought any ive either copied or like at last tidy won a couple smile.gif

hardhouse could get borin raverbaby... smile.gif

i like a good mix of the lot. a whole fusion between hardhouse, hardtrance and whatever else hard they got. all together is the best way it should be played. keeps it open, and not restricted to any one particular genre, and anybody who disagree'd with it probably has a tight ass lol

lisa its jus my opinion on how i see them, i never said i prefered tapes im saying hardcore tape packs used to be a big thing they were live now its binkers but 14 triple albums in how many years is money making as they charge 15 quid or more and that a lot of money they are making and the biggest commercial album going at the min as theres always another one released but i never said at all they were crap did i so its a opinion im not slagging them down so what can sharkey say about that?
