There is NO CHANCE of Liverpool being in Champions League next year... they failed to qualify, and rules are there so this kinda problem does NOT arise - Liverpool can cry about it all they want but the FA/Uefa wont change the rules when something like this happens

 

Fact is, if Everton are booted out of Champions League, they will run a lawsuit against ALL governing bodies involved for loss of earnings (They are a business afterall...). Couple this in with the fact they spent several million pounds bringing in fresh players (Cahill, Beattie etc) in the push for 4th spot, and you got one hell of a legal problem that FA/UEFA will want to avoid like the plague - ie, liverpool will NOT be in champions league next year

Not only that, but what if this was overturned - if Brazil then failed to qualify for next world cup, would they demand another country was thrown out of the competition so they could defend trophy??

 

They can moan about it all they want, but the scousers (non-everton ones that is) wont get their way

Its all down to the money and champions league brings extra revenue of £1million+ per match which (especially to a team like everton) is an absolute goldmine

...4th. Everton = Qualifying round for Champions League

...5th. Liverpool = UEFA Cup Place

 

and despite Liverpool winning the Champions League (as you're well aware wink.gif) ...they won't be able to enter it and defend it (as monsieur hutchinson just pointed out yes.gif) due to the rules, technicalities etc. already in place grin.gif
