Please ... Question

If the sound is distorted would it be

The speakers that are at fault

The computer needing a new sound card

or

It not being wired up correctly in the first place

Could be a few things

A shit sound card

Your "in volume" being set to high. (check the sound cards settings or general sound settings on your pc)

Or how you have your decks wired nto the pc. Is the lead coming from a "booth" or "record" line out of the mixer? If so that volume may be too high.

If you can give me some more info on how it is wired up I'll be able to tell you more

opps sorry nodded off unsure.gif

No Lou .. you might know it's for Rich .. can't set my sky up but can set his decks!!

it's not the sound card settings .. that's set to just below half

There's 2 red & white wires coming out of the mixer ... at the other end where it joins into 1 ... thats in the microphone connector

Speakers and sound card are just 'bog' standard as he puts it!

open Volume Control

tick Line In only. uncheque the rest. > OK

tick Select box under Line In volume.

and also turn the volume way low - mines is about just under the 2nd bar smile.gif

yes "line in" not "mic in"

But tbh the sound quality will be shit using a mic jack (the red and white wire goes into one wire with a jack connector like on headphones right?)

If this is goin to be a long term thing I would suggest buying a USB audio interface. Simply plug it into a usb port and then wire the decks into that using a standard red & white lead but one that has a red & white connector at both ends.

They dont cost that much and the sound quality will be much better

if its a djm600 don't use the record out as it distorts far too easily

use the booth out instead and u can control the volume on the mixer rather than fiddling about in ur comp vol properties

I was going to post a gag about flagellation, necrophilia and bestiality but it's just flogging a dead horse.
