Online space for mixes

If there is space with the server how about a 'temp' space for people to put mixes they made with a track listing so peeps can download easy from there ?

There could be say 500mg & the oldest one that has been there say a month would be deleted when a new one appears

but only people with a code from James could upload to stop 'spamming'

just an idea uhm.gif

This is not a problem technically on the CTW servers - i have space for people if they want it (for anything they want)

However... I'm again worried about the legal implications so if someone can find out for me whether we need a licence to do this or not that would help - I'm afraid I dont have time to research all the legalities right now.

Space isnt a problem - and I can always get more

Furthermore if anyone want to host a webcast / radio station we could also look into this as well but only if its something which is regular

It depends on what labels have tracks on the various mixes... for example, in the hard dance scene it is ONLY Tidy (and sublabels) and Stimulant (and sublabels - next generation and blatant beats for those who dont know) that do not want their tracks put online in mixes...

When tidy originally announced this, I contacted most labels in the scene and stimulant were the only other label who requested their tracks be left off the mixes whilst all the others (which includes all the big labels such as nukleuz, deprivation etc) were fine about it, so I guess its not problem if those labels are avoided

Doesnt make a difference - they hold the copyright... you could have done the mix 20 years ago but if they signed it today, your online mix would be breaking the law unless they approved its use

Sure they could DEMAND that u remove it but they won't actually prosecute, will they? If u're not making a profit out of the mix it would be pretty hard for them to follow up- not to mention c*ntish!
