Do you mean it wasn't your thing generally or just stylistically?

 

I played against a funky, D&B, trance, speed garage and a few other house djs, so all styles are welcome.

To be honest I'm not sure they're my thing really. On the one hand its a good chance to get out there and play, especially as last night was only the 3rd time I've ever played anywhere. but on the other hand I'm not sure I can take the pressure. You only get 20 minutes and it takes some planning to work out a set that works as a whole and fits in 6 or 7 tunes. I've thought about nothing else today and theres a week to go yet.

i know its only short which is a shame really, like ya said hard 2 plan a set, but personally id rather play straight from the bag and see what works best at the time, i can be stressfull planning a set

I've just realised I haven't told anyone how I did.

 

The final had 10 playing in it and the top 2 got through. I didn't quite make it and officially they don't give out places they just name the to that go to the next round, but from talking to all the judges afterwards it would have been a toss up between me and somone else for third.

 

I'm quite happy with that, considering it was the first time I'd played to any thing like a proper crowd, 3dr(ish) out of a starting field of 16 must be good by anyones standards.

 

A bit of credit does have to go to Mr Liam Styles though. The track you gave me did rock the place! Although there were a lot of confused stares coming my way when video killed the radio star kicked in.
