I help orgainse our areas (All of N.Ireland topshops & topman) xmas party.

 

We usually hire out a cool bar, pick a theme etc etc. Hire a good (and I do mean good) band. Last year we had a band called mascara story, they are from Londonderry and are now signed to V2 records in england. I DJ'ed for a few ours too. Playin house and electro.

Our theme last year was "The Oscars" We decked the place out with a red carpet at the entrance, had photographers taking everyones photo as they arrived like paparazzi. We even sprayed one of the topman mannequins gold so it was like the big oscar they have at the entrance of the real oscars ceremony. Half way through the night we had our own ceremony, its easier for us seeing as there were all the stores from N.Ireland so it was easy to have different categories etc. We even had a bloke using a camcorder so when someones name was read out as a nominee they would be on a big screen above the stage.

We had made up goody bags for everyone to take home aswell, they actually took the most work. We had to ring around all different companies trying to get free stuff to put in them. They turned out class. there was jewelery, perfume, boots vouchers, make up and some other stuff for the girls. Aftershave, shavin gel, condoms, cigars, sunglasses, moisteriser and some other stuff for the blokes.

 

All in all it was a top night, everyone dressed like they actually were at the oscars. Plus I won an oscar woohooo!

Hit my 1st problem can't find any hotels in Nottingham with spa's and the girls want somehwere with a spa for the day after the night before to have some treatments like we did last year

Its amazin how far a bit of charm can go. Some companies were really rude, others saw it as good pr. You wouldnt believe how much free stuff companies give away. You just have to have the brass neck to ask.

kate u should do summit like that, only not do it in oscars style cos that would be copying. lol.

and yes if you could get someone up to do DJing like liams style, or like the random from my experience who played the basic christmas disco and thats all u need really...............including a good stockpile of booze to suit you and the workers
