It's now known as "Windows Vista" - I should have my hands on the Beta within a few weeks...

Some screenshots are available here.

Aha, cheers for the Vista Link ! Will have a look at that in a sec.

The Screenshots : Doesn't look too bad, but just looks a mere clone to OSX, which I think it's a bit nifty / silly / pointless. I guess I can't really judge it untill I use it. You'll have to get back to me on the beta dude, and let me know if it's any different / advanced / security etc etc. Really interested in this. thumbs.gif

An interesting read, that. It's deffinatley pursuaded me to want to have it on my system. The FS sounds pretty neat as well, and also, IE 7 - woohoo, FINALLY ! I like the tabbed browsing function, much like FireFox really, which is what I use.

Can't wait for the official release of this. grin.gif

from MS's website...

"Windows ® XP ™ will introduce more backdoors than any previous version of windows. it will require more system resources, hang more often, and have the word "easy" occur more times in the user manual than any previous version of windows ™c®ap."

it looks very similar to XP in my opinion. only the colour scheme is black. ive noticed the title bar is slightly transparrent that you can see the desktop picture behind. so basically it looks to me like a black XP with upgraded graphics inside the folders and stuff.

fucking stunning smile.gif

so basically like winamp that you can set to 10% - 100% transparent.

you will most likely need an entirely new set of drivers for every single piece of hardware you have.

these won't be mature drivers, and smaller manufacturers won't have kept up yet with microsoft.

that means in about 8 months time, you'll have a stable system again.

your amazing new stable system will have a semi transparent title bar. r0xx0rz yay.gif
