Lucky to be alive

Coming back from my Btec course in Blackpool yesterday, the weather was TERRIBLE. Pissing it down most of the way, the M6 was about 1 inch deep in water. There was spray coming off other cars and heavy rain which made it nearly zero visibility.

 

Anyway, me and my mate (who was driving) were going down the fast lane when the car in front started swaying a bit then, suddenly, it started spinning in the road, smashed into the middle barrier and stopped right in front of us. LUCKILY my mates brakes were good and we managed to stop about a foot and a half from the other car.

 

I've NEVER been a nervous passenger, so when I got out to see if the other people were alright, I was still as calm as a very calm thing (cant think what).

 

My mate thanked me for being in the car coz he said if he had been on his own, his brain wouldnt have been so alert.

 

See...us gingers are good for something.

I've had a similar epxerience driving in terrible conditions ! Myself and an old friend were driving to Northampton a few years ago and we were driving through a storm. It was the most scariest thing I've ever experienced, weatherwise. Couldn't see in front of us due to the torrential rain and the back spray from cars and the rain was so heavy the wipers were basicaly doing fuck all.

weve not had the rain that bad although it was pissing it down all monday and tuesday, the worst i saw was a ford galaxy go thru a puddle at aberdeen train station and the water went right above the wheels but he drove out of it again, and that was only a puddle, the rest of the car park was just wet lol
