Hi there guys, just a quick questionnaire!

Would greatly appreciate if you could answer the following questions / delete as applicable and return to me

I use both vinyl and cd and at some point will get round to buying MP3's to use on cd (my current cds are official cds)

2. Considering current market trends which medium do you think will predominantly be using within the next three years?

cool.gif CD

but mainly bought as MP3's and burnt to cd

3. Would you be interested in purchasing a portable DJ system for use at home / outdoor parties? Or would you envisage it as a product aimed more towards bars / nightclubs etc…..

c) Both

for the mobile dj i can see it being relevant (something i do do as it pays well) and it will be suitable for bars that may want a dj in a different place each time or wants to set up outside in the summer. For club djs i'm not sure it would be that relevant though

5. Would you rather the system was

f) Over £500

(though personally for something of this nature with a good spec i would be willing to pay a lot more - the equivalent being 1210s, djm600, coffin case + speakers totalling probably near £2k if bought new)

7. Are there any feature you would like to see on the system?

whatever deck set up there is, a decent set of speakers is a must.

8. Any addition comments?

Personally i'm not sure how a self powered device of this nature could expect to be able to be used outside or in a bar as batteries would not be able to power speakers bigger enough to project far enough outside/in a crowded bar/party

From the work i've done in live sound i know that you need a decent amount of power behind decent speakers in order to fill a room

unless you want everything to sound shockingly bad and distorted

It's a very nice concept, but i'm not sure that battery powered speakers would be suitable to produce a loud enough decent sound for what it is needed for. I may be wrong but i am very anal when it comes to sound quality and something that annoys me in the mobile disco industry is that the majority of people do it on a serious budget and the end result is that the speakers were bought for £100 (with an even cheaper amp) and sound it, which brings down the customer satisfaction.

But as said i am anal about sound quality etc etc so there are those that will buy cheap all in one systems for ease of use. take behringer for example, they make cheap rip offs of everything under the sun and people buy them cos they do the job, but they aren't anywhere near the same sound quality

bleh (sorry for essay - and repeating myself several times)

I was going to post a gag about flagellation, necrophilia and bestiality but it's just flogging a dead horse.
