Would you ever consider going to these places ? Just out of pure interest ? I've just ordered some brochures, I am seriously thinking of going to either one, in 2008. I fucking love everything about these places that no-one has a clue about !

Deffinitly an experience to endure before your days are over. I cannot wait. Possibly my biggest goal to achieve.

they are expensive holidays to go on, but I've done a shit load of research these last couple of weeks and they really are experiences of a life time. Read loads of reviews and they are so moving, about what people get to see ! Went on one site and it was just over £10k for a 12 night holiday. If I was earning silly money, I wouldn't even have a second thought, I would be gone in a shot, but what I've found are prices between £3k and £5k and I would be MORE than willing to pay that price !

I've looked into it before, it'd be pretty interesting I imagine. I remember reading about cruises to the south pole from argentina. That was around £2K for a week.

I am really sensitive to the cold, but I must say, I don't want Winter to end, I'm begining to love the cold ! It's as cold as -50 in Antarctic. I would freeze my tits off just to go up there and see what seems a different planet. There aren't enough people interested in this different side of life, which is what will make the experince more special. Holiday of a lifetime, it's going to be superb !

I get 2 Summers this year, too. grin.gif

Yeah ! PRetty expensive but when you think about it, it's not expensive for what you are doing and seeing. I got a brochure from a particular site I've sent off this morning, and I'm wanting to do a trekking one across the arctic Ocean, walking and riding a Mini Bus like Vehicle over the Frozen Ocean, seeing baby Penguins, going out to the Ocea to seek Humpback whales and all that. It's really is something else !

I got goose bumps just thinking about it ! woot.gif

Yeah, I like that too, would really like to go to Kenya to experience stuff like that, and I'm going to a well nice Night Safari in Singpore when I go in November. smile.gif Although sinse watching Blue Planet alot lately, and sinse my first viewing of Deep Blue Documentary, it's kind of got me hooked ! Really liking the Idea of wanting to gain a Degree in Marine biology now !

I'm glad I'm young and have a taste for nature now and want to go places, at least as far as I can get and do things people only dream about. To coin a phrase, anything is possible and all that, I'm just glad I've got all these unusual places I want to go to and I'm just so looking forward to it all ! yay.gif

since i was like 10 i wanted to be a marine biologist but my dyslexia and uselessness at science destroyed that dream

but then new century and more options for the adults wanting to learn these days who knows what the future holds..

at the minute im looking into nursing and going into home nursing and caring... already on an agency for carers

i did all my school chosen projects on marine life and dolphins and orcas mainly and another extra one on the borneo rain forests...

Well, I got my brochures through and I have to say I am CHUFFED TO BITS that I'm actually going either next year or 2008. After hours of research I've come to the conclusion It's cheap as chips for the experience you gain, but I'm undecided to which I want to go to. either North or South.

In the North you get to go to various locations = Sleep in the Ice Hotel in Iceland, sleep in Igloos (1 night each, just for the experience), see the Northern Nights whih will be THE most UNIQUE experience you will ever discover from where you are, watching the Earths Particles Energy turn into beautfiul colours right before your eyes, get pulled across snow by huskies, go on Snow Safaries - loads really. Or -

Antarctica offeres all the Wildlife that you see on things like Blue Planet, Penguins, go on a Polar Bear hunt (just to see them), go treklking across the Frozen Ocean, go Whale / Killer Whakle / Humpback whale spotting, see Albatros (sp) and the like. Wow, it's all so good, I can't believe I'm actually doing this in my lifetime, and before Global Warming seriously effects these places !

I can't wait I can't wait I can't wait !
