is there anyway of tracing back where an 'unknown' address email has come from?

 

 

having a problem with an Anon sender

You can get the senders IP address from Emails

Im not a wizz at all this sorta thing either, The IP will tell you if its from the same person, unless they use different pc's each time... Im sure someone will be able to tell you more than i can

no worries, you might be able to block the IP somehow, but im not sure on that either...

on hotmail, go to top right hand corner of screena nd click on options.

 

then mail-> mail display settings

 

then on message headers click full

 

go back to email and it should give you various info including ip address it was sent fomr

 

go to http://network-tools.com/ and type in the ip adress and should give you more info from there.

did it and came up with a load of letters and numbers i hadnt got a clue what to do with,

 

im just gonna forget about it, not worth worrying about

send me the whole message header (as shen descibed earlyer) and i'll see what i can do, but i cant promice ne thing as its been a long time since ive traced an IP
