GATECRASHER CLASSICS @ GATECRASHER ONE, SHEFFIELD – 18.2.06

Gatecrasher continue their series of Gatecrasher Classics Album Tour events for 2006 by following on from their first, very successful Classics event at the Works, Birmingham. This second event will take place at what many consider to be the spiritual home of ‘Crasher – Gatecrasher One in Sheffield.

If you’re thinking of getting tickets, by the time you’ve thought about it, you may have missed out! The last Classics event in Sheffield at the end of 2005 saw tickets being traded for up to a £150 on EBay. We all know how the clubbing world comes back to life in February, so demand for this is expected to be very high, very quickly! JFK, Solarstone, John Kelly, Riley & Durrant, Stevie G and a live PA from Warrior are on the menu for the Discotech Mainoom servings, with Subliminal’s Jason Herd, Jon Fitz (the other half of ‘Herd & Fitz’ fame), Corey and Filthy Rich completing a strong line up in the Electric Box.

In the last few months, clubbers in Leeds, Sheffield and Birmingham have experienced the recreated magic of these events. Everyone has their own set of remarkable moments that they’ve shared at the club. Many cite Paul Van Dyk’s set at the Summer Soundsystem as being theirs, many clubbers at the Don Valley Millennium will always remember the quality of Judge Jules tearing the place to shreds, a lot of people favour the infamous back to back sets of Scott Bond and Matt Hardwick at the original Republic, jaw-dropping classics such as ‘Lizard’, ‘Fiji’, ‘Everyday’, ‘Out Of The Blue’ and ‘Bulgarian’ hammering walls / tents of Gatecrasher events around the world!

Once again, there will be no expense spared for what is guaranteed to bring tears to the dancefloor. The original Gatecrasher family re-unites, re-ignites and remembers. Theywillalwaysbewithyou

Gatecrasher resident JFK is one of the hardest working and prolific trance DJ’s to date. Having juggled an extensive gig diary that has seen him travel around the globe, production for the likes of Y2K and Mondo and running Midlands mecca ‘Passion’, more recent times have seen Jason celebrate the first birthday of his own ‘Live and Loud’ night, as well as playing a prominent role in Gatecrasher’s recent success. Some argue that his classics sets are the pick of the bunch – we’ll leave you to decide.

Rich Mowatt and Matt Bury, also known as Solarstone, have just released their ‘Desintations’ mix. On top of this, they work hard to maintain their own ‘Deepblue Records’ that continues to gain realms of praise from many. Solarstone and Jes’s ‘Like A Waterfall’ is actually due at the end of February too.

John Kelly is a dance music legend. Kept busy by his rightful place on the Serious agency, John has been there, seen it and done it all. He has done mix compilations for the likes of ‘Trust The DJ’ and ‘Slinky’, has remixed for ‘Manifesto’, ‘FFRR’ and ‘Positiva’ (amongst others) and continues to excel throughout a most intriguing career.

Riley & Durrant, better known as Andi Durrant and Nick Riley, are one of the scene’s most recent success stories. You just wonder if these guys get time to sleep with all they have going on. Running numerous Galaxy FM shows, an extensive and ever-growing gig diary, Gatecrasher residents, production and remixes for the likes of Black Hole (Holland), Yazuka (Holland) and a whole lot more!

Stevie G could be considered to be the new kid on the block, but in reality he’s been Gatecrasher for quite some time now – and things are progressing very well! A regular on the Classics nights as well as Nu Crasher, Stevie has been busy himself with his own production as well as working with other well known parties such as Out Of The Blue.

Warrior (also known as Michael Woods)’s live PA will be much anticipated for the performance of his self-named ‘Warrior’ outing that destroyed dance floors across the globe. Michael has also remixed the likes of ‘Skydive’ and is a high-flying feature on many trance compilations, including Gatecrasher’s own.

Any promoters wanting to host a ‘Gatecrasher Classics’ party at their venue / night should contact Dean Webster on 0114 2526110 for further information.
