nice_guy_danny Posted February 17, 2006 Share Posted February 17, 2006 (edited) Ben Stevens – Wake Up Call/Crowd Rocker VCR052 Wake Up Call Once again, Ben Stevens gets another release one what can only be described as the best hard house/NRG label in the world, only this time we get not one dosage of the newly crowned Best Mixmag future hero (Hard Dance Awards)…. but two side of vinyl power from the boy wonder himself. Wake Up Call is made up of all the usual elements you can expect in Ben’s tracks, a good strong rolling beat and an earth shaker of a bassline but what really captures the track for me is the lack of breakdown which makes it continually driving – the trademark dirty synth when it kicks in is the icing on the cake for this lil beauty! Crowd Rocker This one is gonna be a VC future classic and in my opinion Bens best track to date. From the start this track is pure gristle, by showing there’s no messing around the kick and bassline will put you into a coma alone, and then comes that acid riff which sounds like a thousand angry hornets trapped in a very small box! The house rocker vocal plows its way through the whole track, doing pretty much what it says on the tin – Rocks tha crowd!
