Welcome to the first edition of Flashpoint Records newsletter. Each month there will be a review on the forthcoming Flashpoint release as well as information on their ever growing and massively popular digital label as well as the forthcoming gigs for label manager Marc Johnson and Jupe.

Enjoy.

Flashpoint 19 – Released Monday 1st August

Riggsy & Frank Farrell – Brainblock 1664

After their debut collaboration on Toolbox with the pounding “Expanium”, Rocking Riggsy and On-Fire Frank Farrell punish the market with yet another bleeding hard slab of hard intelligent NRG on one of the most consistent hard house labels in the market…. Flashpoint! Since Riggsy burst onto the scene and made a name for him self across the country with the foot-tapping beast “Follow Me” he has since made some of the best and original hard dance tracks available, and now since he’s teamed up with the latest starlet of the scene and all round top bloke Frank Farrell the outcome would be like the results of a nuclear biological testing plant run Russell Brand! Brainblock has all the top ingredients to a good solid hard house production including Frank’s trademark “Woops” scattered across this piledriver of a tune as well a as big dirty synth to get all down and dirty too! Expect plays off dj such as Paul Glazby, Justin Bourne, Ben Stevens, Andy Farley…and well anyone with a decent set of ears!

Alex Calver & Steve Maynard – In Trouble

Alex Calver needs no introduction – He’s responsible for many memorable tunes including some early bouncy ones the man himself would rather not want to talk about. That aside, having notched up releases on Tripoli Traxx, Short Circuit, Deprivation, Nukleuz and Hydraulix to name but a few as well as making a respectable name for himself in the techno industry it’s easy to see why he’s regarded as one of the best engineers in the business. Steve has been dominating the London clubs with his dead waking hard as Tyson beats, which have been imprinted on this fierce track. 7 minutes of none stop violence in the form of an NRG track will be a hit with all the no holds barred bare-knuckled djs out there who just don’t know when to lighten up.

Available at all decent record stores J
