What started as an experiment in the mid ‘90s has grown to become the ultimate retro event for dance music lovers in the UK and beyond. Incorporating events such as the legendary History of House, the Freedom 2 Dance concept was born at Busby’s in Central London (now the Mean Fiddler), and after turning away 100s at the first party, moved next door to the more spacious Astoria. The first F2D event held there, “Back To ‘89â€, saw 3000 people in attendance, 600 turned away, and the roof in one of the Astoria’s bar caving in due to the excessive heat! The next 12 years saw the “Era of House†and “History of House†events repeatedly rock Camden Palace to its core, more roadblock events at legendary Ibiza clubs such as Amnesia, Pacha and Es Paradis with the likes of Judge Jules, and dozens of other unforgettable parties around London. F2D has brought old skool memories flooding back to hundreds of thousands of people since it came into existence. It continues its quest in 2006 to bring you the most essential classics from the vaults – from right across the dance music spectrum.
