The Tidy Boys return to Portsmouth for the first time since 2005 to join Frantic at the eagerly awaited grand opening of The Regal Palace

On Saturday 17th February, The Regal Palace located in Portsmouth, Hampshire will have its doors officially opened to the public after a ten year absence from the South Coast clubbing scene. Offering a spectacular series of exclusive 500 capacity pre-parties before it’s official re-launch to be confirmed later in the year, the venue will play host to some of the finest talent in dance music today beginning with the almighty Frantic on the 17th. The Tidy Boys, Vinylgroover and Frantic resident Cally Gage will be headlining this prestigious event.

As a brand Frantic have quickly climbed to the top of their game since their creation in 1997; dedicating themselves to the “raw, exciting underground sounds of Hard House” and investing much of their time in building the very best line-ups and complementing such with groundbreaking production and flawless promotion there were no doubts in the minds of ‘Regal Palace’ party organisers that Frantic were the perfect choice for the club’s 2007 launch.

Headliners The Tidy Boys, otherwise known as Andy Pickles and Amadeus Mozart have been the Kings of the Hard Dance scene for the better part of a decade or more and are the founders of the legendary Tidy brand, which since it’s inception has won numerous awards for it’s varied roof raising releases, cutting edge website legacy www.tidy.com and their infamous Tidy Weekenders, not forgetting of course their solo tours under the moniker ‘Tidy Boys Big Night Out’ and their status as DJ Magazine Top 100 headliners. The Tidy Boys have headlined many a festival in the last ten years including Creamfields and Global Gathering and their Tidy Vs Extreme nights at Es Paradise in Ibiza are the talk of the island year in, year out. They have also had the honour of recording an Essential Mix for broadcast on BBC Radio One’s prolific late night show of the same name hosted by Pete Tong and currently host a weekly show of their own, on the Galaxy radio network.

Local hero Scott Atrill otherwise known as Vinylgroover will also be joining the Frantic brand bringing his flair for the harder generation to the Portsmouth super club. Having built an extensive knowledge of the underground dance scene since the late nineties, Scott quickly made his rise to stardom after producing and releasing his own material on Traffic collaborating with the likes of Anne Savage, Vince Nysse and The Red Head.

Frantic resident Cally Gage will also be making an appearance and is a performer who, in a short space of time has established herself as ‘The Princess Of Hard House’ with the creative approach to the tracks that she plays and the energy that as an artist she brings to a crowd. Combine this with her beauty and ability to win the affections of some of the biggest club brand names in the industry today including Slinky, Tidy, HTID and Defective and compliment it all with a taste of her latest Frantic Residents 06 CD which was received with brilliant reactions from media, fans and fellow DJ’s alike.

Cally will be joined in the main room by Jason Ireland and Fusion / Defective residents Paul Dee and Tripoli who have built their reputations as the next generation of Hard Dance by working non-stop at venues all over the UK including most recently Defective, Fusion, THC, Tasty and last year’s sell-out summer festival Digital Circus in Westbury.

However, the DJ’s and entertainers are not the only ones with a history; The Regal Palace has also seen a fair few adventures. The spacious three million pound venue, located at 143 - 147 Kingston Road in Portsmouth, Hampshire was last open in 1997, back then playing host to DJ’s such as Carl Cox, Boy George and other DJ’s at the peak of their scene during that particular age of dance music; and since then has been closed… until now. Returning a decade later, The Regal Palace team have set out new plans to re-open the venue later this year with a capacity of 2000.

As a building the club boasts an array of super club features inclusive of huge rooms, an elegant and welcoming foyer, large and extensive bar areas supported by spacious dance floors and complimented by the very best in light and sound including a sound system, this enormous venue offers South Coast revellers a unique opportunity to take part in enjoying the work of some of the biggest brands and the very best artists in the UK today.

Entry to the Frantic launch party event will be £12 plus booking fee in advance, more payable on the door on the night. Further information can be obtained from 0870 850 5823 or by visiting www.regal-palace.com or www.regalpalaceondsi.com – the club will be operating a strict door policy – over 18’s only and if you look under 21, photo ID will definitely be required.

The re-opening of Portsmouth’s largest nightclub in association with the UK’s leading Hard Dance DJ’s and promoters present the most eagerly awaited event on the South Coast clubbing scene this year!
