This is absolute garbage!! The vocal has been added on as a total afterthought. It smacks of *cash in* and it has really disappointed me. I had alot of respect for intec.

Yes sparky, after one listen.

 

Maybe its becos i am such a fan of the original (penotape) when it came out. Now for it have this "chart" vocal tacked on, totally baffles me.

Im not arguing the point "its good" "No its not" Just stating my opinion. This would never find its way into any of my sets (of any genre, or style) This, to me, is intec trying to cash in on some commercial crossover potential.

 

Which is something i thought they would never do.

i know your not. but after years of being one of the most influential labels in techno, i think the odd money spinner is forgivable if it keeps the label afloat. especially when you look at the number of reputable labels that have fallen of late

I dont think its a matter of doing this release to keep the label afloat. Maybe Mr Cox just thought it would be a good release for them. People will do/go for the money if they have the chance. Im just disappointed thats all. By all means re-release penotape (or kick as its now named) and do a vocal mix if you want but why team it up with such a shite vocal that doesnt sit with the track at all. It makes the track lose its energy and drive.

ahhh - you see, i think thats where we differ.

 

when i 1st relised it was a cut-up job by coxy i was a little disapointed that he would release it on his label (what with the reputation they've built up). but after hearing the tune i fell in love with it. i think the vocals suit it nicely. so i kinda forgave him

 

i guess its just marmite

 

i do agree with you on the £££ side of things tho. it might have been better suited to a 1 sided white label rather than a 1 sided intec release
