Are you sitting comfortably? Then I’ll begin…

Once upon a time, a long time ago, Jack created a groove and this groove became known as House. But Jack hid this groove, hid it hard and hid it well, hid it in a dark and mysterious place where nobody would ever find it.

For centuries the groove beat underground, its throbbing heart hidden underneath time and expectation. Many heard tales told of its existence, many travelled leagues to find it. Some sold their souls just for the chance to hold it. But nobody ever found it and the world continued turning day on day, year on year, century on century without the power of the groove.

Then one day the groove became too much, its power became too strong. The ties that bound it, worn out from years of straining against the beat, gave way and the groove was unleashed. From its dark and secret hiding place it burst forth, pounding with a rhythm that was infectious to the body and the brain. Men and women from near and far felt the pull of the groove, felt their bodies moving to the rhythm, felt their brains switch to a higher state of consciousness, their moralities falling to the floor as the carnal knowledge of the groove became known to and felt by all.

Now the groove beats in another deep and dark secret place, but it is not hidden and it is not restrained. It makes its home inside the walls of The Island, it moves freely across the dance room floor. It twists and turns and takes hold without exception or explanation. It is desire, it is rhythm, it is music, it is us. As darkness falls the story begins to unfold before us, what will happen nobody knows; always expect the unexpected, turn the page and let the NightStory begin…
